Role Overview:
BDA’s New Business Development team helps drive the company’s growth; we respond to Requests for Proposal, client renewals, and develop presentations to highlight the organization's capabilities and expertise. In short, we bring in new business and help retain existing accounts – and we happen to be the coolest team at BDA (if we do say so ourselves).
We are seeking a talented and experienced RFP Writer who excels in long-form writing, with a specific focus on creating persuasive and compelling business proposals that can span 40+ pages; must also have experience in managing multiple proposals at one time, and demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that can require day-to-day pivots. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in crafting RFPs that resonate with both the customer’s needs and our company’s voice, driving successful outcomes in highly competitive environments.
Job Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for ensuring the submission of proposals that are compliant with RFP instructions and requirements.
• Must work within online proposal management systems frequently (Ariba, SAP, Workday, etc.)
• Manage the proposal-writing process from receipt of Request for Proposals (RFPs) (i.e. solicitations) through submission.
• Draft and edit Request for Proposal (RFP) responses; prepare written materials for editing and approval by supervisor and other team/company leadership.
• Proactively manage all Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) contributing to the proposal effort.
• Responsible for gaining necessary approvals and communicating in organized and concise manner.
• Ability to review comprehensive RFP documents and develop project management tools for assigning deliverables and tracking through completion.
• Collect, create, or edit assets for new business projects, proposals, and presentations (PPT, agendas, implementation schedules, etc.) using Microsoft Office software, including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Teams & PowerPoint.
• Creative ideation and brainstorming with supervisor and/or team for presentation themes, messaging, gifting, etc.
• Meet client driven and interdepartmental deadlines through excellent organization skills and prioritization.
• Willing to participate in creative ideation regarding merchandise development for clients, and contribute to content development of client presentations.
• Manages the development of web comps; provides guidance, copy, etc., in partnership with internal web designer.
• Other duties as assigned (as we are a team who will pitch in to ensure our deadlines are met)

• Ability and willingness to understand departments of BDA and navigate the organization to gather necessary information to accurately respond to RFIs and RFPs
• Ability to research and analyze the marketplace and/or accounts to find competitive information that can be included in strategic account documents
• Ability and enthusiasm for ideation and brainstorming
• Maintain positivity and can-do attitude during busy periods with heavy workloads
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in developing Proposals/Grants/RFPs (ect) that are 40+ pages in length, with a focus on clear, detailed, and engaging content.
• Expertise in writing persuasive business proposals that effectively communicate our value proposition and competitive advantages.
• Proven ability to manage multiple proposals at any given time.
• Ability to craft content that balances the customer’s perspective with the company’s voice, ensuring clarity and impact.
• Proven experience in managing the entire RFP cycle from conception through to final delivery.
• Ability and desire to work in dynamic setting; willing to pivot to the needs of the team and deliverables on a daily basis.
• Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to incorporate all relevant inputs into the final RFP submission.
• Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders, including project coordinators, to tailor the RFP for maximum business impact.
• High degree of competency using Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments as a trusted, autonomous, and resourceful self-starter.
• High level of emotional intelligence, with the capability to engage and collaborate effectively with senior executives and sales leaders.
• Ability to handle confidential information with care and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
• Goal-oriented with an obsession for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding deadlines, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and to the highest standard.

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $72,000 to $82,000. If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth. The range listed is just one component of BDA’s total compensation and rewards programs, which includes: robust PTO; vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays and summer Fridays, Benefits; medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, 401k; tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs and professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement. Certain revenue-generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
