Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works on highly complex Operation Programs from inception through commercialization to include:
    • Manufacturing equipment automation
    • New product line implementation and transfer into manufacturing
    • Production scale-up
    • Change Order Plan (COP) closure and if needed FDA filing
  • Collaborates and drives design qualification strategies with Quality Assurance
  • Collaborates and drives process improvement activities that involve complex equipment or facility changes or additions with manufacturing.
  • Establish Strategies, advise and communicate project/program plan and status to management and cross functional teams.
  • Anticipates and prevents issues to schedule, resources, scope. Drives risk assessment as well as resolution.
  • Partner with Functional leaders to drive activities/tasks/resources across all departments including:
    • Technical team (Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering), Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Finance, Suppliers, Facilities, and others within the boundaries of an indirect reporting structure
  • Ability and confidence to run project and design reviews as well as other key meetings.
  • Responsible for compliance to medical device regulatory standards for all aspects of program.
  • Work directly with suppliers and corporate partners, as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and work experience in Engineering, Automation, and Manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated independent successful management of complex projects and programs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business information clearly and effectively through informal and formal documents, reports, and presentations to senior management.
  • Requires significant technical leadership experience and an understanding of regulated change control, product development process and medical device design control manufacturing transfer.
  • Requires significant technical knowledge and an understanding of FDA/ISO regulations working with GMP's and ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Visio is required.


Preferred Qualifications: (Optional)

  • Program Management certification, i.e. PMP or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Confluence and JIRA



Functional Description

Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services. Oversees multiple interconnected, complex projects, coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, and focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the program from initiation through commercialization including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending to ensure successful program outcomes. May develop, define and execute project plans, identify resources, define and assign major roles, and interface with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed.

  • Possesses advanced knowledge of technical principles and theories. Recommends solutions in support of functional objectives tied to overall company objectives and strategies.

  • Demonstrates significant technical expertise, collaboration with others and independent thought. Anticipates potential complex problems requiring an in-depth evaluation. Demonstrates strategic thinking and commercial/industry understanding in functional projects.



Judgement

  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other colleagues.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.



Workplace Type

  • The Workplace Type for this role is Assigned Desk. Based on the nature of your role you will have an assigned desk or office located at a Dexcom site and should plan to be onsite approximately 4-5 days per week.
