As the Sr. IT Operations Project Manager, you will ensure that our internal customers have the best experience possible as consumers of technology within the GRAILs Ecosystem. You will define and automate processes, ensuring our internal staff has access to the resources they need while ensuring that information is properly secured. Assist the department to meet corporate short/long term business strategies and objectives. Assist in establishing new IT processes and modifying existing ones, e.g. IT Handbook and Cybersecurity program. You will be responsible for budgeting and staffing and establishing systems, programs, policies, and procedures on a global IT platform. Select and negotiate with outside vendors. Compile and report on department activities and achievement of goals and objectives to management.
Ideal work location is Raleigh - Durham NC. Also open to Menlo Park CA.
You will...
- Lead /support aspects of the project and team from inception to closeout
- Build and develop relationships with client representatives, technical sectors, and sub-contractors to establish project requirements, budget, specifications, and schedules.
- Lead and support the activities of multiple cross-functional IT systems/application teams; work with IT Staff/technology vendors in leading ongoing implementation activities throughout the life of the product, ensuring business and client expectations are continuously met.
- Produce and /or support review detailed project plans; assess Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), resource loading, dependencies, and landmarks
- Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor internal and external compliance and practices.
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators and processes to regularly monitor and act on the data provided.
- Effectively apply project management methodology
- Effectively communicate relevant project information to management and/or committees to ensure risks/issues are surfaced and mitigated
- Effectively promote customer involvement and recognize that project success is directly related to satisfying the customer
- Anticipate operational and tactical risks to effectively lead client expectations
Your background should include...
- BA/BS with 5+ years of experience; Masters degree with 3+ years of experience; PhD with no experience. Or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years relevant work experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- At least 2 years of experience in implementing ITSM tools and processes, with a proven track record of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of IT and project/program management including release and deployment processes using Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Validated experience in handling complex projects up to completion is required.
- Familiarity with/experience in the following systems/supporting systems a plus: Data Integration Platforms, ERP, P2P, Clinical Systems, and People systems.
- Experience with SaaS CRM
- Knowledge of project management, timelines, deadlines and follow-through on finished projects
- A solid understanding of project management methodologies (PMP certification highly desirable)
- Ability to work across multiple functional groups within a highly matrixed organization. Ability to understand who project implementations may affect.
- Ability to collaborate with teams at various management levels, including Leadership
- Implement strategic level objectives into tactical level plans and facilitate plan execution
- Proficiency in GSuite, Smartsheets and Asana
