Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management of multiple customer projects, with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget, and meeting scope and quality requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the planning and coordination of projects with minimal guidance to ensure on-time completions within budget.
  • Assist on large programs by evaluating and assessing the program goals.
  • Organize daily activities of large programs based on the goals.
  • Lead and monitor large programs and oversee project managers to ensure goals are met.
  • Define tasks and milestones to achieve objectives, while ensuring the optimal use of resources to achieve those objectives.
  • Lay out daily activities based on the goals of the project or program.
  • Plans and oversees the projects within the organization, from the initial ideation through to completion.
  • Acknowledge and follow AIT processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Follow and enforce AIT processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Help create, maintain, and coach fellow employees on AIT processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Comprehend and manage SOW (Statement of Work) documents. Able to work with customers through SOW adjustments.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property component's and familiarize oneself with AIT's background.
  • Strategize project execution with the knowledge of the company's intellectual properties.
  • Coordinate with other members of the Project Management department to plan and execute a project.
  • Formulate effective strategies to develop and execute a project with other organizations.
  • Effectively fill out and run a kickoff meeting and clearly articulate ideas, opinions, and information with minimal guidance.

  • Familiar with opening and reviewing/integrating models in CAD (Computer-aided design).
  • Can manipulate and/or create simple concepts in CAD (Computer-aided design).
  • Aware of the concepts of the EACs (Estimate at Completion) form and efficiently complete and report an EAC (Estimate at Completion (EAC) form.
  • Comprehend the ETC (Estimate to Complete), Risk, Opportunities, and accurate relay of the EACs (Estimate at Completion) form.
  • Work collaboratively with others in the Project Management department to develop project budget.
  • Build initial project budget and manage SOW (Statement of Work) accordingly.
  • Accurately develop and flow out project budget and manage accordingly. Constantly seek opportunities to improve.
  • Assist with researching estimated costs on goods and construct estimates for proposals based on previous projects.
  • Show confidence in yourself and in the presentation of the project. Speak to any aspect of it with the customer or internal leadership.
  • Collaborate with customers, internal team leads, and leadership to review critical project related items. Make decisions to resolve difficult problems and drive other functional groups to achieve their best performances.
  • Unite with others in the Project Management department to meet or exceed the projects expectations.
  • Clearly report and discuss project information so the customers understand.
  • Give professional, interesting, and accurate presentations to large customer teams and their leadership.
  • Respond professionally to the needs of the customer during difficult issues and develop a relationship of trust and respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • PMI or CAPM Certification is an asset.
  • Experience working with CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, Visual Job Shop, or MS Project.
  • Previous Project Management experience in a tooling/manufacturing environment in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficient with advanced functions within MS Office and manage large projects/programs.
  • Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:

  • United Stated DoD Security Clearance preferred

  • Plan and coordination multiple projects

Work Hours:

  • Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions.


Travel Requirements:

  • This position may involve travel up to 30% of the time.


Physical Demands:

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
