How You’ll Support Our Mission
Our vision is to provide our customers with meaningful information that leads to actionable outcomes, improving community health and safety through the power of data. As a member of ESO’s product engineering team, you will be collaborating within the platform engineering team (data, analytics, cloud, security, and services) and across domains, other program managers, business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and senior leadership to help manage workload and track progress. The ideal candidate has a passion for project management.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Engineering, you will be part of our Product Engineering team based in our Bellingham, WA office.
What You’ll Be Doing - the day today
You will be working day-to-day as part of the program management team within the product engineering division. You’ll be responsible for:
· Identifying, tracking, and reporting status on work items across the product engineering team.
· Participating in the project prioritization process for internal, engineering, and company-wide initiatives in collaboration with the product and development managers.
· Scheduling, leading, and steering the daily scrums and other related program management meetings and processes in support of the Technical Program Manager.
· Collaborating with stakeholders and helping to manage interdependencies within the platform team and across the engineering teams. (Cross-team collaboration)
· Guiding and coaching the product engineering reams on using Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services.
· Working to help move the teams to a regular delivery cadence, identifying blockers, and keeping management and senior leadership apprised of project status.
· Documenting (Jira/Confluence) projects, participating in story/epic development, and ensuring current and well-maintained documentation.
· Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood, and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
· Resolving team impediments with other Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Product Management, and Development managers.
· Working with Leadership, Program Management, and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role.
· Contributing to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
· Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
· Acting as a leader who coaches and supports Agile.
Who You Are:
· 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
· Exemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles and good program/project management.
· Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, documentation, and coaching skills
· Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e., Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth understanding of traditional project management principles and practices
· Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
· Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams
Who You Are - the desirables (It’s a plus if you have):
· First responder experience
