Underwriters Laboratories Electrochemical Safety Research Institute (ESRI) is seeking a Research Project Manager. The Research Project Manager oversees research portfolios of the ESRI that includes research objectives, timelines, budgets, participants, and outcomes to keep projects on track and on time. The Research Project Manager will work closely with other leaders, researchers, and colleagues across the research organization to advance research excellence.

What you'll learn & achieve:
- Track all research initiatives as to objectives, timelines, budgets, participants, and data outcomes and keep current.
- Track all scientific publications, presentations and external events associated with research, support development and delivery.
- Conduct external research on topics for supporting information.
- Works with the communications team to expand technical and subject matter presence through the development of internal and external materials via reports, blogs, presentations, web materials and supporting researchers on journal articles, data presentations, and research documentation.
- Coordinate between technical team, leadership and communications team to track and provide quarterly and annual reports on research initiatives.
- Manages internal and external relationships and resources to achieve project deliverables.

- Expert knowledge in research project management and reporting.
- Background in science and engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to manage research objectives, staffing and budgets.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, especially with time-sensitive work.
- Demonstrated technical writing skills to compose reports, presentations, and written communication in an organized, logical, and concise manner.
- Must be a self-starter and possess excellent leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on a team and with diverse external partners.
- Translating research knowledge into actional steps and materials to bring positive change.
- Drives for results, is proactive, balancing analysis vs doing and commits to organizational goals and timelines.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field, Project Management Certification, preferred
- 4 years' experience managing research projects.
