About the job
The Red Hat Finance Project Management Office (PMO) team is looking for a Project Manager for cross-functional, transformational projects to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will conduct end-to-end project management of a variety of projects that impact our Accounting, Finance, and Global Workplace teams. You will assist with business case development, team process improvements, and coaching and mentoring fellow team members and organizational partners.
What you will do

  • Proactively manage complex projects to successful completion from initiation through delivery and closure
  • Follow Red Hat's policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project team to create a project plan that delivers the scope from an approved business case
  • Report on the project status and tracking to the overall timeline, cost, and scope delivery
  • Facilitate stakeholder identification, team updates, Steering Committee meetings, and go and no-go decisions
  • Create and maintain project artifacts like plan and change requests
  • Proactively call attention to risks and issues that can impact the project delivery
  • Ensure that adequate change management and communication plans have been created for the project and incorporated into the overall project plan
  • Enable project management review (PMR) business controls on all projects
  • Contribute to the project methodology and standardization
  • Ensure that business readiness activities are planned and incorporated into the overall project plan
  • Promote a collaborative environment so that all associates can participate
  • Understand and demonstrate industry-standard project management practices
  • Create documentation for a project, e.g., plan, risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID), and notes and understand importance of need for facilitation of a successful project
  • Schedule, monitor, and assess progress or tasks to complete the work seamlessly
  • Establish project control through cost, schedule, scope, and stakeholder management
  • Facilitate the identification and mitigation of project risks through collaboration
  • Proactively identify issues and resolutions for them


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience with 4+ years of project management experience with PMP or scrum certification or 5+years of relevant work experience and 7+ years of project management experience without the certifications
  • Solid understanding of industry-standard project management practices with the ability to interact with senior management and leadership
  • Experience managing cross-functional project teams
  • Great verbal and written communication skills and solid presentation skills
  • Excellent conflict resolution and change management skills
  • Experience with office applications and project management tools
  • Solid relationship building and negotiation and inspiration skills with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to connect vital business operations, tools, and processes to determine project impacts, risks and issues
