Job Summary:
This function will manage and control capital expenditure, operational expenditure and working capital management as well as controlling revenue management function reporting into Wealth and Retirements Transformation Head with a dotted line to the Financial Controller.
The role will leverage experience in standardizing and normalizing financial control processes for a large program as well as expenses and receivables with finance corporate finance. Working in partnership with our corporate finance organization, you will understand the corporate standards in finance function processes and finance shared services. Responsible for developing an agile and efficient financial analysis and reporting function for the transformation programs covering DSO, cash flow reporting, invoicing & receivables monitoring, payables tracking and cash flow forecasting reports to program leadership, business unit and financial controller.
Essential Job Functions:
Producing monthly management accounting reports to be presented and reviewed by program leadership, business unit and financial controller.
Working in partnership with corporate finance functions:
Producing periodic client charges, monitoring of invoicing and billing with corporate functions
Monthly project reconciliations and handling queries that arise and report on findings.
Preparing financial monthly, quarterly and year end reports for the transformation program office
Analyze and tracking reconciliation to the corporate accounting system, ensure all receipts are posted and ledgers are up to date
Facilitating internal invoices and processing accordingly and communicating with suppliers and leaseholders for payments.
Facilitating receipt/invoice postings and analyzing any unidentified receipts on a weekly basis.
Managing Credit Control and reviewing debtors – ensuring funds are received in line with payment terms.
Support finance team in reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
Align on revenue/expense classifications with corporate finance – in-year revenue, cost deferred, expense, capital, etc.
Working closely with business unit heads and transformation head to prepare budget for program, capital expenditures and revenue recognition timing.
Prepare quarterly P&L report for each project / program (with monthly trends, 12/24/36 months rolling average trend analysis)
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports of each project / program covering:
Actual vs planned Cash flow / IRR
Actual Vs Forecast Revenue
Actual Vs budget CAPEX and OPEX
Rolling average and actual DSO report for past 12/24/36 months including analysis of ageing and disputes if any
Depreciation and amortization report and corporate treasury charges if any
Reporting on ad-hoc and exception expenses on a quarterly basis
Monthly cost base analysis reports on top 20 cost elements and risk analytics
Monthly cost efficiency analysis covering “efficiency attribution”
Reporting Debtors to Group Financial Controller on a monthly basis
Preparing monthly management reports for various projects in the Transformation program.
Gathering invoice information from corporate finance shared service function and reconciling aged debt for transformation programs
Monthly intercompany reconciliations with other business units if any
Liaising with client(s) financial controller(S) on a monthly basis for escalation and reconciliations and alignment with corporate forecast
Participate in steering committee and/or finance operations committees
Participate in new business deals as a business finance controller
Provides business finance expertise in the definition of proposed new large program solutions
Collaborate with technology and business manager for their operational financial plans and budgets
Other Job Duties:
Supports training and professional development for staff members as needed to perform job duties. Establishes financial performance goals, revenue and expenses plans and mentors team leads. Maintains a working knowledge of current and emerging practices. Interprets their applicability to short and long-term FIS needs. Performs other duties as assigned by Group Financial Controller
Required Experience:
Qualified accountant with relevant accounting and financial and management skills and an In-depth knowledge of management accounts production.
Technology background and will be a highly organized and a team player and used to working under pressure
Ability to independently develop strategies to help achieve defined objectives and therefore a proven track record in delivering on objectives within a demanding commercial environment.
Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ideally possess auditing experience and a sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
Educational qualifications:
CPA / CIMA / ACCA
Bachelors degree
