Your Impact

The People Operations Project Manager will be responsible for owning and executing a variety of projects across the People Operations team, with a heavy emphasis on process improvement. This person will work cross functionally, within and at times outside of the People Ops team, to drive processes and policies to fruition. This individual may help with data analysis, documentation, creation, and rollout of processes and policies, creating user guides for Workday, keeping our employee intranet up to date, and managing an internal email inbox through Zendesk. This person will also be tasked with identifying gaps within our team and problem solving to fix them. This role may also include gap coverage based on business needs.
This person must have a problem solving mentality, and acts proactively to get to the right answer. This role will be focused on the successful management and delivery of individual and integrated projects. This role will lead high-impact, high-profile projects with the objective of transforming and maturing our HR programs and processes and high-priority HR projects. You will build project plans, collaborate cross functionally, mitigate risks, and engage with collaborators on various teams. You will play a meaningful role in ensuring strategic program objectives are being met and provide oversight across project-level risks and issues. This individual will ensure that zero tasks are late, and that escalations are addressed in a timely manner to deliver projects on time. 
What You'll Do

Location:  Onsite at our Scottsdale, AZ office, 2 days a week

Reports To: Chief of Staff, People Operations

  • Identify key processes that need creation and/or improvement, and own the documentation and rollout process
  • Plan, coordinate and execute projects across the organization including tracking and reporting on status , risks, issues and dependencies. Specific projects will be determined based on business needs, and outlined with your manager in your one on one meetings. Is is your responsibility to keep the projects tracked and up to date at all times.
  • General Support across HR team to take on new projects
  • Data Analysis and Reporting - where applicable, provide data analysis and reporting, working in partnership with key stakeholders on HR team, including HRBPs, HR Specialists, HRIS, L&D, and Total Rewards
  • Manage a portfolio of HR related projects across various functions, including but not limited to: creation and implementation of new processes and policies; continuous process improvement; Workday enhancements; COE process launches; and ad-hoc projects as identified by People Operations.
  • Ensure change management strategy is developed and executed as needed in each project or process that gets rolled out.
  • Identify and gain agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources
  • Plan and mapping key activities/tasks that will deliver the desired results and overseeing day-to-day work while monitoring progress towards goals
  • Jump in and roll sleeves up to assist in project task completion; this person will leader projects but will also execute themselves and be a strong doer
  • Communicate and collaborate with HR teams and other functions to provide information required to deliver projects on time
  • Perform project close-out steps including identifying lessons learned and best practices to ensure the success of future projects and optimize the project management experience
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies throughout the project management lifecycle
  • Facilitate project delivery satisfaction by engaging with stakeholders in a positive manner, reviewing feedback, build trusted relationships and supports colleagues in leveraging trusted relationships with internal resources
  • Establish clear expectations and accountabilities (e.g. monitor scope, RACI matrix) with all project team members and stakeholders for projects teams of medium complexity through participation in kick-off meetings

What You Bring

  • 2- 5 years of experience managing projects from ideation through completion
  • 2+ years experience in People Operations/ HR
  • Problem solving mentality, and acts proactively to get to the right answer
  • Excellent administrative skills, including but not limited to drafting and creating project plans, drafting processes and policies, setting task owners and providing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with shared communication tools i.e. Quip, Sharepoint, Slack, Outlook etc.
  • Conflict-resolution and problem-solving ability
  • Expert computer literacy
  • Excellent team play/ collaborator
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure

Benefits listed herein may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 90,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 130,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 110,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 150,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
