Department OverviewThe Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Standards and Governance (S&G) team is part of the North America Project Management office. Our customer is the project management community and its leadership. Our focus is to identify, document, implement and govern project-centric processes to achieve excellent outcomes and drive efficiencies.
Job Description

Here are the day to day activities as a Project analyst

50% Project Initiation - the creation of new projects which require the following skills on day one:

  • Proven proficiency in crafting project schedules in the following areas:

    • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) creation

      • Knowledgeable in both waterfall and agile methodologies 

      • Dependency logic, leads, lags, constraints, auto-scheduling behaviors, and outcomes

      • Critical path identification

      • Schedule duration versus effort

      • Schedule baseline

      • Schedule cycle time variance

    • Resource loading

      • Resource effort versus task duration

    • Familiar with basic project financial terms 

      • EAC (Estimate at Completion)

      • FAC (Forecast at Completion)

      • ETC (Estimate to Complete)

      • Cost Baseline 

      • Cost versus revenue

      • Gross margin

      • Margin versus markup, versus discount

    • Formulaic calculations (ability to learn)

      • Cost baseline margin

      • FAC (Forecast at Completion) margin

    • Project financial planning activities (ability to learn)

      • Labor cost alignment to project cost configuration

20% Training & Onboarding - Coordinate new project manager onboarding activities, organize and facilitate in-person or virtual training based on a variety of project management topics

  • Triage Kissflow training requests and route to the appropriate party

  • Onboard new project managers with appropriate training and setup

  • Develop a quarterly schedule plan with the assistance of (S&G) Manager

  • Assist with the registration process for the courses 

20% Documentation - collaborate to draft, review and publish process documentation

  • Ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams to drive the creation of new process documents

  • Identify process gaps and opportunities 

10% Other activities

  • Participation in weekly or bi-weekly meetings

  • Leading team initiatives

  • Ad-hoc reporting

  • Personal development for growth

Additional Preferred Skills:

A positive attitude, self-starter with critical thinking capabilities with an analytical mindset, and the drive to learn quickly in a fast-paced changing environment. Attention to detail and overall business acumen while always pursuing the standard of excellence, is a must.

  • Business tools

    • Proficient in MS Project or similar PPM tool, with the ability to learn Planview Enterprise One

    • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint and/or the equivalent Google Suite tools

  • Communication

    • Work effectively with various stakeholders in the Presale, Finance, Order Management, and other cross-functional teams to ensure documentation accuracy

    • Effectively communicate with regional project managers to achieve desired project schedule outcomes

NOTE: Candidate may reside anywhere in the US with access to an major airport for necessary travel

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 3+ years of experience in Project Management or Engineering
  • OR 5+ years of experience in Project Management or Engineering
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
