Program Manager-Privacy

Do you love Video Games? Are you passionate about creating a fun environment for everyone? Do you want to shape how Xbox Game Studios keep player information secure and protected?

We seek an energetic, highly motivated and qualified Program Manager to help drive privacy across Xbox Game Studios. In this role, you will work across organizations to support first party game studios on privacy principles and practices. As a Privacy Program Manager, you will collaborate with legal, policy owners, game producers and developers to help games, apps, online services and websites meet privacy standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Help Xbox Game Studios products, services and websites meet Microsoft privacy standards and legal regulations
  • Define technical requirements in support of privacy policies for Xbox Game Studios
  • Understand privacy compliance risks and help Xbox Game Studios build effective mitigations for those risks
  • Identify and promote opportunities to improve data privacy management practices that meet high Microsoft and regulatory standards
  • Partner with legal and regulatory policy teams to help engineering teams understand and implement technical solutions for privacy
  • Drive timely privacy deliverables and dependencies with product development teams
  • Convey complex privacy policies and mandates into actionable plans for engineering teams
  • Serve as a strong privacy advocate for players/customers to Xbox Game Studios in partnership with legal teams and partner organizations
  • Troubleshoot and drive privacy issues to resolution for Studios engineering and development teams
  • Anticipate and proactively guide product development teams to future-proof experiences in accordance with privacy standards and practices
  • Manage and educate privacy champs community within Xbox Game Studios
  • Improve processes and tooling to help Studios meet privacy directives
  • Partner with legal and regulatory affairs teams to stay abreast of upcoming privacy mandates that will impact Xbox Game Studios products
  • Help Xbox Game Studios to infuse a privacy-first-mindset and culture into product development



Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Certifications and subject matter expertise in privacy (CIPM, CIPT etc.) or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of program management experience working with engineering and product teams
  • Prior work history in game development or equivalent products or services with focus on privacy
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: compliance, privacy, risk management, Incident management or legal support
  • Ability to manage projects across engineering teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Ability to communicate with technical engineering teams with clarity and purpose
  • Experience working on products and services released to the public
  • Experience managing website cookies
  • Ability to manage high levels of ambiguity
  • Obsession and passion for customer privacy
  • Experience with privacy related technologies and principles (cookies, GDPR, data privacy services etc.)


Helpful skills include:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies
  • Experience managing security or privacy related engineering programs (CIPM certification a plus)
  • Experience with programs that include legal and engineering requirements
  • Experience with data integration/database engineering platforms and services
