As it turns out:

We are looking for a Lead Project Manager who would be pivotal in the efforts of our production group. This position will forecast, resolve a wide range of issues pertaining both to staffing, resourcing and project demands. It requires continuous and cross-departmental interaction and reports to the Senior Manager of Production and Operations.

The position will work with the production team, sound designers, dialogue coordinators and casting professionals on some of the most exciting AAA games for PlayStation!

Responsibilities:

Scope/ Budgeting

Scope and Budget responsibilities done in conjunction with the Senior Manager of Production.

Using information from sound design, dialogue and casting leads, responsible for generating project plans and budgets that includes a project scope breakdown, staffing schedule and risk management plan.

Act as a production liaison with SIE producers, audio directors and finance managers, including communicating project needs, scheduling changes and budget updates to ensure approval and entry into the financial system and any other means of communication.

Alongside the sound production team, track progress across multiple titles and work with discipline leads to make corrections if the project is not tracking to plan. Regularly communicate status, effort, and budget burndowns to project stakeholders as scope evolves.

Manage scope creep via proactive actions such as trend analysis, baseline planning and effective communication of those statuses.

Working with Production Coordinators and leads, assist with workflow definitions and handoffs as well as identify/remedy any production issues that affect team health and efficiency at the project level.

Maintain a constant awareness of development status across multiple titles.

Resourcing

Build and maintain department resource plans across Sound Design, Dialogue and Casting.

Work in tandem with discipline leads to ensure that projects are staffed and resourced accurately in alignment with scope and budget.

Highlight and bring attention to deficits in staffing across the department disciplines.

Assist with team short and long-range production employee development planning.

Process/Communication

Create, maintain, and review territory-based production documentation and organization adhering to the PlayStation Studios Sound standards

Contribute to the development and refinement of the production management processes to increase studio efficiency and quality.

Advise the sound operations team of production timelines and needs that would require coverage

Leadership

Serve as a mentor and provide leadership, information, and resources to new and existing production team members.

Build relationships across SIE departments to foster a sense of community and outreach. Knowledge share with other production groups at SIE to build awareness of Sound’s production pipeline and to gain insight into streamlined workflows.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience as a Producer or Project Manager in games or entertainment
  • A thorough understanding of Game Development, and/or Sound and Post processes and pipelines
  • Must be able to quickly identify issues, problem-solve, prioritize, and forecast needs across multiple projects
  • Ability to understand and facilitate practices and processes in the following areas – project management, financial cost tracking and quote/budget preparation
  • Demonstrated written and verbal presentation skills concerning scope gathering, reporting project progress and risks
  • High functional knowledge of Excel and general financial knowledge
  • Proactive self-starter and a great teammate
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to multitask in a technically sophisticated and fast-paced work environment
  • Works well under pressure, has a positive attitude and demeanor
  • Production experience in AAA Game Development environment or Game Service Provider a plus
  • Working knowledge of SmartSheets, Trello, G-suite, Jira, Box and Concur a plus
