About Nova Systems

At Nova Systems, our purpose is to make a difference.

As a trusted engineering and management consultancy, we partner with Defence, government and industry to solve complex challenges that contribute to Australia's security and future capability. Through our support of the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise, we are helping to deliver programs that strengthen Australia's sovereign Defence capability and enable critical outcomes for the Australian Defence Force.

We believe that diverse perspectives lead to stronger outcomes. We foster an environment where people feel valued, supported and empowered to contribute their ideas while developing rewarding and meaningful careers.

About the Role:

We are seeking two Project Officers to join our growing team supporting the GWEO AIR Domain.

Working within a dynamic Defence environment, you will provide project delivery and coordination support across complex capability programs and initiatives. You will work closely with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and multidisciplinary project teams to help ensure projects are delivered effectively, risks are managed, and key milestones are achieved.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to build on their Defence project delivery experience while contributing to nationally significant programs that support Australia's future air and missile capabilities.

What You'll Be Involved With:

As a Project Officer, you will:

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of Defence projects and program activities.
  • Assist with project scheduling, reporting, governance and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Monitor project actions, risks, issues and dependencies to support successful delivery outcomes.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and reviews, including the preparation of agendas, papers and meeting minutes.
  • Develop project documentation, briefing materials, reports and presentations.
  • Support project leadership teams with planning, tracking and progress reporting activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Defence and industry stakeholders to ensure project objectives and deliverables are achieved.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of project management best practices.

What We Would Like From You:

You are organised, proactive and enjoy working in collaborative environments where no two days are the same.

You have a strong attention to detail, can manage competing priorities and are comfortable engaging with a broad range of stakeholders. Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to complex Defence programs that deliver meaningful outcomes.

We'd love to hear from candidates who have experience in:

  • Project support, project coordination or project delivery roles within Defence or Defence industry environments.
  • Supporting project governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Working within structured project management frameworks and delivery environments.
  • Building productive relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Preparing quality project documentation and project controls artefacts.
  • Managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

The following experience would be highly regarded, but is not essential:

  • Experience working within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
  • Exposure to the AIR Domain, Air Combat, Air Mobility, ISR, Air and Missile Defence, or related capability areas.
  • Experience supporting GWEO programs, projects or enterprise initiatives.
  • Understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle and Defence governance processes.
  • Qualifications, certifications or affiliations in Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Defence project management tools, reporting frameworks and integrated delivery environments.
