Nova Systems is hiring experienced Defence professionals in systems, software, DevSecOps, cyber, safety, verification, integration, architecture, and mission engineering. Consultants will provide technical advice, assess systems and processes, develop solutions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and prepare technical documentation across Defence projects in Adelaide. Applicants need relevant Defence industry experience, engineering qualifications where applicable, strong analytical and communication skills, and an active or suspended Australian NV1 clearance.

Owns and grows a strategic business development pipeline across Defence, Emergency Services, Mining, Utilities, and Space. The role builds senior customer relationships, shapes opportunities, leads capture and win strategies, governs bid/no-bid decisions, coordinates technical and delivery teams, and supports contract award, mobilisation, and post-tender reviews. Success requires Commonwealth-style acquisition experience, commercial and risk expertise, executive communication skills, and a strong Defence or government network.

Provide specialist systems engineering support to Defence and prime integrators across the systems lifecycle. Contribute to V&V, systems safety and assurance, collaborate with software/mechanical/electronic/aerospace teams, and deliver engineering outcomes in regulated, safety‑critical projects.

Manage small-to-medium defence projects across the capability lifecycle: develop and maintain plans, schedules, risk/change registers; monitor scope, budget and schedule; lead resources and subcontractors; manage commercial activities and compliance; engage stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

Provide explosive ordnance engineering consultancy to Defence clients: review requirements, assess risks, advise on technical solutions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, produce technical reports, and support business development across Australian Defence projects.

Manage delivery of engineering services for Navy patrol and hydrographic vessels under the Regional Maintenance Provider contract. Oversee configuration management, technical data, defect investigations, Class Society and design/product baseline compliance, change incorporation, technical risk management, reporting, and continual improvement. Lead, mentor, and build capability in engineering teams while engaging stakeholders and ensuring compliance with ENG-500 and the Maritime Sustainment Model.

Create, maintain and adjust integrated docking schedules, sequence workpacks, deconflict activities, forecast remaining work, perform schedule impact analysis, identify risks/opportunities, and provide inputs for internal and client reporting to support EW Defence projects.

Provide integrated logistics consultancy to Defence projects across Australia: assess systems and processes, advise clients, deliver technical solutions, prepare reports, collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, and support billable and internal activities.

Support CASG and Defence GWEO programs across acquisition, delivery and sustainment. Duties include engineering, test and evaluation, configuration and technical data management, ILS artefacts and sustainment planning, stakeholder engagement with APS/ADF/industry, and project delivery through Defence governance frameworks. Roles require Defence domain experience and security clearance.
