Job Summary:
Th Project Manager will manage the lifecycle of switchgear manufacturing projects from initiation through closure. This includes support and coordinating cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Procurement, Sales), monitoring progress against milestones, and ensuring stringent adherence to specifications, budget, and schedule. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record in a technical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop project milestones, objectives, detailed timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.
- Oversee and drive the execution of project tasks, ensuring alignment with manufacturing schedules and customer delivery expectations.
- Manage projects focused and new product introduction (NPI), process improvements within the manufacturing line, and fulfilment of large, custom orders.
Tracking, Monitoring, and Control:
- Establish and maintain rigorous project tracking mechanisms to monitor progress, identify deviations, and forecast potential issues.
- Conduct regular status meetings and generate accurate, detailed progress reports for the Head of Project Management, highlighting key milestones and potential risks.
- Manage the change control process meticulously, documenting and approving all changes to scope, schedule, or budget.
- Ensure all manufactured products and associated documentation meet strict quality and regulatory standards.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external account customers and, when necessary, internal teams regarding project status.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Sales departments.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks to prevent schedule delays or budget overruns.
Process Improvement:
- Analyze existing project management and manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies.
- Propose and implement improvements to optimize project flow, fulfilment speed, and overall production efficiency.
Risk Management & Safety:
- Must comply with the company’s safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in a technical manufacturing environment, preferably within the electrical switchgear, power distribution, or the electrical construction industry.
- Proven experience managing projects focused on product realization and manufacturing process optimization.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field (Preferred but not required for the right candidate).
- PMP or equivalent certification (e.g., CAPM, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
Core Competencies:
- Exceptional attention to detail is a must, particularly in reviewing technical specifications, bills of material (BOMs), and tracking complex production milestones.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, supply chain logistics, and quality control procedures (e.g., ISO standards).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., ERP / MRP systems).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
The base pay range for this role is $90,000 – $120,000 per year.
