What you get to do:

Provide oversight of all key capital projects, as assigned, within the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment (SEA) Attractions group. Provide support for the proper and timely planning of key approvals and reviews by SEA senior leadership and Board of Directors. Support the project management efforts of the VP of Attraction Design & Development.

In support of VP, Engineering & Project Management:

  • Support and actively organize the capital development processes for all major SEA Attractions. Position will track and communicate project schedules in order to ensure approvals are synchronized with project schedule requirements, notably BOD reviews and approvals, in order to ensure attraction opening dates are successfully met.
  • Support VP Attraction Development & Design with vendor selection and management, contract writing, tracking, review, and issuance, management of design resources, organization of creative assets, administrative responsibilities, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain roster of external creative design and construction resources, manage all key SEA Attractions group documentation, administer department standards and controls.
  • Perform QA/QC review of project documentation. Scrutinize bid and construction documents to ensure established design criteria and intent have been achieved, and applicable SEA standards have been adhered to. Analyze constructability and develop and implement project execution strategies.
  • In support of the overall Attractions group, maintain Design & Engineering’s master specification documentation, form of all standardized contracts and master agreements, as well as the controls and procedures documentation.
  • Position is responsible for coordination of creative development work within Attraction projects, park capital projects, and miscellaneous park expense work.
  • Position reports to corporate VP, Attraction Design & Development, and supports the workflow process of the SEA Attractions group.

What it takes to succeed:

  • Creative skills and the ability to convey visual and thematic direction
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong scheduling, estimating, and technical skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex schedules and timing issues and develop effective plans and strategies.
  • Technical & functional knowledge of the means and methods of design, project development, and construction.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple major projects simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to build presentations with aesthetically pleasing formats, graphics, and style.
  • Minimum five years of experience in project scheduling or management.
  • Bachelor of Science degree required –in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering or other related discipline preferred.
