The Project Manager leads and manages customer‑facing enterprise software implementation and consulting projects for Genedata Biologics® and Genedata Bioprocess®. In this role, you will own projects end‑to‑end, combining hands‑on delivery with overall responsibility for project scope, timelines, budgets, and outcomes.
You will manage projects across their full lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation, configuration, deployment, and global roll‑out, while acting as the primary interface to customer project stakeholders and coordinating internal delivery teams.
In addition to project delivery, this role includes ongoing customer relationship- and account‑level engagement, ensuring long‑term customer satisfaction and alignment across multiple projects and phases.
This position reports to the Head of Project Management and is part of the Genedata Biopharma Consulting team, located at our Basel, Switzerland headquarters. This is an on‑site role with limited travel.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage complex, high‑visibility projects for global top‑25 biopharma companies and innovative biotech customers, delivering mission‑critical enterprise software solutions.
Drive end‑to‑end execution of customer‑facing enterprise software implementation and consulting projects, from initiation through delivery and structured close‑out.
Define, monitor, and control project scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and internal delivery capabilities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer project managers and key stakeholders, providing clear communication, expectation management, and timely decision‑making.
Coordinate and operate within interdisciplinary internal delivery teams, including scientific consultants, software engineering, product management, QA, and operations.
Plan and oversee deployments, integrations, data migration, and user enablement activities, including end‑user and administrator training.
The essential requirements of the job include:
A degree in life sciences, engineering, computer science, or a related field or equivalent professional experience in the biopharma, biotechnology, or scientific software domain.
Several years of practical experience in a project‑based, consulting, implementation, or technical delivery roles involving enterprise software or IT systems.
Experience working in interdisciplinary environments at the interface between customers and internal technical or scientific teams.
Solid understanding of biopharma R&D and/or CMC workflows (e.g., antibody discovery, protein engineering, cell line development, bioprocess development, analytics, laboratory automation, or manufacturing IT).
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
Ability to travel occasionally (typically up to ~10–15%), primarily within Europe, with occasional travel to North America.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Implementation or consulting of enterprise scientific or laboratory software platforms (on‑premises and/or cloud‑hosted).
Working in regulated environments (e.g., GxP) or supporting validation‑relevant activities.
German and/or French language skills.
