Purpose of Job:

The role of the project manager is to plan, execute and finalize projects on time and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, detail oriented, has excellent communication skills and thrives in a fast paced environment. These skills are applied in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, prioritization, business analysis, requirements definition, coordinating all resources and stakeholders, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring, summarizing and communicating the progress of all assigned projects.

You will work among a team of business owners / partners, developers, technical services specialists and QA. You will work with business owners / partners to strategize and prioritize current and future projects.

Job Components:

  • Direct and manage multiple projects from beginning to end.
  • Set priorities and define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Coordinate with business units, BA managers, development managers, technical services managers, QA managers, technical writing managers, support managers, training managers on resources and effort to achieve project goals.
  • Coordinate with the Enterprise Architecture Committee to obtain approval on all projects for application design and implementation planning.
  • Draft and submit project budgets, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Track project financials throughout the life of all projects.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Identify and direct process improvement activities.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in developing information technology solutions.
  • Minimum 3 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Project Management Certification or working towards completion with course verification
  • Work effectively in team environment and manage 10 or more project resources.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software including MS Project and MS Project Server.
  • Advanced personal computer and MS Office skills including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Familiar with Agile systems development lifecycle.
  • Familiar with a multiple programming languages.
  • Familiar with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Familiar with ERP systems
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essentials

Scope Data:

  • Oversees and manages the work of employees assigned to the projects under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Manage projects with team sizes of 10 or more employees.
  • Responsible for project budgets and tracking of financials on projects.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ISBA policies and applicable laws.
  • Scope includes planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or hand, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 10+lbs.
  • Prolonged use of personal computer and telephone.
