About your team

The Outbound Correspondence Team has been set up as an early adoptor of the new cross functional team model being explored within Fidelity. Bringing together all the necessary skills and disciplines from propositions, technology and operations, the team has set out to form a new strategic roadmap building a new approach to how the GPS business manages outbound correspondence. The team will maintain responsibility for the underlying mechanisms, tools and technologies to produce correspondence, whilst working with the associated business channels and downstream operational functions to support a best in class service model. 

About your role

This vacancy is for a highly motivated Project Manager to manage projects and technology change initiatives in this area. The right candidate must be able to ensure end to end delivery of all initiatives in with highly predictable manner, aligning various teams and stakeholders, with high quality and increasing velocity, encompassing current and future views of the business needs and the existing and newer/better technology solutions to those needs.

The successful candidate shall oversee all aspects of an engagement(s) using planning, monitoring, and controlling processes as per the Fidelity guidelines and standards, and shall be responsible for completion of projects on time, on budget and meeting the requirements. To this end, PM will perform a variety of tasks including coordinating all resources and stakeholders, planning and setting milestones, assigning responsibilities and monitoring, creating high performing project teams and form excellent working relationships with senior customer representatives across multiple business and System teams.

About you

The right candidate will provide thought leadership to

  • Favourably maintain the product’s (in house built or vendor implementation) value proposition in line with business strategy & objectives, including the total cost of ownership and competitive differentiation that it can help create
  • Exhibit a high-level ownership and look at continuous improvement opportunities
  • Influence business and technology stakeholders
  • Facilitate clear communication and collaboration
  • Understand modern programming and testing constructs and be able to leverage the best methodology for the product(s)
  • Lead, develop and work with a high performing, self-organised & cross functional team

Product Management

  • Convert business and technology inputs into insightful business recommendations and a compelling product vision
  • Communicate the product’s long- and short-term priorities across the organization in the form of product roadmap and focus on delivering a Minimum Viable version
  • Break down the business inputs into granular stories that deliver incremental value and help stitch together the return on investment as those stories get delivered.
  • Keep the backlog recent and be able to say ‘No’
  • Own both the change (CTB) for the products
  • Be aware of contemporary industry & competitive practices, products and strategies in the specific domain and use this knowledge to evolve the product
  • Be the product evangelist in the organisation

Delivery

  • Exercise end-to-end ownership of the products – starting from ideation till expiry, using the DevOps model with as less hand offs as possible
  • Deliver features with high test automation and ensure deployments into production on demand and independent of interfacing products
  • Run product working groups and steering committees and share the accurate updates to keep the stakeholders informed
  • Monitor the delivery metrics to spot trends and take appropriate actions in the spirit of relentless pursuit of quality
  • Create detailed plans where necessary, managing constraints and risks and communicating effectively
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and keep business stakeholders sufficiently involved during delivery of features

People

  • Foster a highly collaborative culture for business and technology teams to work together on common goals.
  • Foster a culture whereby team members are empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the product and willingly take high personal accountability for their decisions & actions
  • Guide the team such that they embrace the constructs of a high-performing, self-organising team – ensuring team goals take precedence over individual goals
  • Continuously communicate within the team to ensure clear visibility and understanding of their individual roles and growth aspirations.
  • Lead a team comprising of poly-skilled people with ability to work across different technology stacks
  • Facilitate intelligent risk taking and use every mistake as a team learning opportunity. Encourage people to think out of the box and challenge norms smartly without diluting quality and controls in the production environment
  • Continuously communicate within the team to ensure clear visibility and understanding of their individual roles and growth aspirations.
  • Lead by example and earn the respect of your team – use principles from ‘servant-leader’ concept

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10-14 years’ experience with at least 5+ year experience in software delivery & project management, handling small to mid-sized teams
  • B.E. / M.C.A.

Essential Skills

  • Expert level knowledge of any structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development)
  • Experience of tools like Atlassian suite, Confluence,Jira  etc.
  • Experience of leading medium and large sized projects
  • Experience of providing global systems solutions & knowledge of internationalisation aspects
  • Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment
  • Experience in delivering and maintaining products (including 3rd party vendor apps) with cross geography teams is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach and learn from others
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment

One last point – if it goes without saying, it should not be included. This means things like ‘good communication skills’ and ‘basic computer competency’.
