Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, and our electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Ameren Missouri's mission is to power the quality of life for our 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St. Louis area.
About The Position
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, completion and operational integration of new generation and distribution projects into Ameren’s energy delivery and generation systems.
Key responsibilities include:
● Leads the project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out.
● Manage project implementation including project schedule, project budget and the project resources including external vendors and contractors.
● Serves as the primary site authority for assigned project personnel and operations staff on major project- related issues.
● Direct project team and lead the project management process.
● Responsible for metrics tracking, associated reporting to stakeholders, and compliance with regulatory, corporate and business function procedures during all the phases of the project.
● Assist in development of, or revision to, function-specific project management policies, procedures, and implementation.
Qualifications
Project Manager 2:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or engineering management discipline preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred or must actively pursue PMP certification upon hire. Three years relevant project management experience required. Relevant experience includes project management, and/or project lead engineering experience on large and medium complex projects. Experience in project management controls area preferred. Project coordination or team leadership experience preferred.
Project Manager 3:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required. Five or more years of relevant experience in project management including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, or project accounting including cost management systems to support project budget, forecast, and spend required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Five years is the minimum number of years to be considered for the role.
Project Manager 4:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required. Seven or more years of relevant experience in project management including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting or project accounting including cost management systems to support project budget, forecast, and spend required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Seven years is the minimum number of years required to be considered for this level role.
Senior Project Manager:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required. Ten or more years of relevant experience in project management including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting or project accounting including cost management systems to support project budget, forecast, and spend required. Must have at least three years of experience in managing large, complex, or portfolios of capital projects. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required. Promotion to this level requires careful consideration and business case justifying the business need for this level. Ten years is the minimum number of years required to be considered for this level role.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required. General understanding of generation and distribution systems required. Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting required. May be required to work emergency callouts. Overnight travel within the Ameren territory may be required. Excellent leadership and organizational skills required. Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Additional Information
Standard Day Shift in office or field environment. Significant travel, overtime, and/or off-hour work may be required based upon individual project oversight needs. Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment.
