Job Description

On behalf of CUBIC, a Rockwell Automation Company, we are looking for a Research and Development Project Manager.

CUBIC-Modulsystem A/S is a growth-oriented company that develops, manufactures and sells a modular system for the construction of electrical panels as well as standard and customer-designed enclosures. CUBIC is among the leaders in its field and sells its products globally.

Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will be responsible for managing product development projects from initiation through delivery at the capacity of Project Manager and Scrum Master. You will ensure that the design process is meticulously followed and the product reaches its finished state. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, assess project management capabilities, and communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders. In this dual role, as the Scrum Master of the team, you will also serve as a servant leader and coach for our agile teams who facilitates events and processes in support of our lean implementation of SAFe. 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design process and ensure the product reaches its finished state.
  • Utilize the Project Management Capability Model to assess and determine the appropriate level in the project management career ladder.
  • Manage creation, development, execution, and close out of projects/Epics under our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Common Product Development (CPD) process within the project budget and schedule.
  • Leads cross-functional teams and third party service providers/suppliers while maintaining overview and communication of the assigned projects. 
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Communicate project status, progress, and challenges to stakeholders.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Proven experience in managing product development projects.
  • Strong understanding of the design process and product lifecycle.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Ability to assess capabilities using the Project Management Capability Model.

The Preferred - You Might Have:

  • In-depth and advance knowledge of PMI standards and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and other project management best practices. The ability to work as an Epic Owner under the Lean Portfolio Management structure is critical and key requirement for this role. 
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications such as SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe RTE, and/or SAFe SA 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar industry or with similar products.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.
  • Previous experience in a senior project management role.
