This opportunity is based at Catalis’ office in Old Strathcona (Edmonton, Alberta). Our new office includes an innovative vibe, stand-up desks for all staff, foosball games, an active workplace enrichment committee, fitness challenges, an office dog, lounge areas, and more!

This is an onsite position working out of our Edmonton office Monday through Friday.

The Opportunity

The Project Manager leads implementation projects for Catalis’ Public Works & Engagement (PWE) vertical — spanning our ERP, CMMS, and PLM product lines — from planning through go-live. This role is both a hands-on project leader and a coach: guiding the project team on methodology, tools, and best practices while managing delivery on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality. The Project Manager also directly manages a team of 2–3 Project Coordinators, overseeing their work and development to ensure consistent execution across the project portfolio.

What you Will do

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Manage projects from planning through delivery for city/county/ government clients, ensuring all activities meet contractual and internal guidelines
  • Establish project governance — project plans, communication plans, risk/issue logs, and RACI charts — and maintain related artifacts (status reports, agendas, statements of work)
  • Use Kantata to plan and track project timelines, tasks, milestones, and resource allocations; approve and maintain project time sheets, and review baseline and forecasted revenue for each project
  • Align and adjust resources and budgets across the project portfolio; accurately forecast project revenue and expenses
  • Liaise between project teams, cross-functional departments, vendors, and stakeholders; communicate schedules, scope changes, and risks to all parties, including executive-level contacts
  • Plan and facilitate project meetings (discovery sessions, working sessions, steering committees) and send regular stakeholder updates covering completed items, at-risk items, missed deadlines with mitigation plans, and upcoming decisions
  • Monitor task and project health to identify at-risk items early and develop mitigation plans
  • Coordinate QA and user acceptance testing to ensure a successful go-live
  • Manage your own projects & multiple concurrent implementations while delivering exceptional customer experience

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Serve as a technical coach and mentor to the project team — guiding PM methodology, tools, and best practices, and removing roadblocks
  • Directly manage a team of 2–3 Project Coordinators: assign work, review performance, and support their professional development
  • Identify team skill gaps and close them through knowledge transfers, LMS training, or shadowing opportunities
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and provide regular project updates in internal professional services review meetings

  • Strong communication skills — able to translate technical information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong risk/issue assessment, mitigation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and a small team of direct reports.
