Job Location: Houston, TX / Calgary, Canada
Job Type: Full Time – Hybrid (3 days/week in office)
Hybrid Requirement: Due to the hybrid nature of this position, the successful candidate must already reside within a commutable distance (<50 miles) of the listed office location.
About the Role
This position is accountable for the end-to-end delivery leadership of large-scale and high-complexity industrial software projects for our existing and future customer base. Projects may span multiple sites and multiple phases from initiation through go-live, hypercare, and handoff, ensuring delivery is completed on time, within scope, and aligned to commercial expectations.
The successful candidate will operate as the customer-facing delivery leader, partnering closely with solution architects, technical leads, and practice/product stakeholders to validate solution approach and execution plans. This role goes beyond traditional project management: you will be expected to maintain a practical understanding of the technical and commercial context of the work—able to navigate executive discussions and complex negotiations while also engaging in detailed delivery planning and technical coordination with customer experts and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full project lifecycle (initiation → planning → execution → go-live → hypercare → handoff).
- Define scope, milestones, work breakdown structure (WBS), staffing plans, and the delivery model (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
- Establish and run delivery governance, including standups, weekly status cadence, risk reviews, steering committees, and QBRs.
- Provide executive-ready communications: present clear updates, manage expectations, and drive timely decisions by articulating trade-offs and impacts.
- Partner with solution architects and technical leads to validate solution designs covering MES/SCADA/IoT/digital twin, edge compute, and cloud data flows; oversee integration alignment with PLCs/OT systems, historians, data lakes, ERP/MES/PLM/MOM, and manufacturing analytics.
- Lead cross-functional delivery teams, including software engineers, OT/automation specialists, DevOps, QA, data engineers, and site services to achieve project outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- 8–12+ years of project/program management experience with industrial software (MES/SCADA/IoT/Manufacturing Analytics/Edge/Automation).
- Proven delivery experience in production/plant environments, including multi-site or global rollouts.
- Hands-on experience coordinating OT and IT teams and leading integrations with ERP/PLM/MOM.
- Strong command of project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Waterfall/Hybrid) and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Demonstrated success managing $1M–$10M+ projects and complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Excellent executive communication skills, with strong conflict resolution and negotiation capability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Desired Skills
- Industry experience in one or more of: Automotive, CPG, Pharma/Life Sciences, Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Semiconductors, Heavy Industry.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Aveva/Wonderware, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens Opcenter/WinCC, Ignition, GE Digital, PTC ThingWorx, Azure IoT/AWS IoT, OSIsoft/AVEVA PI, Snowflake/Databricks.
- Experience with data pipelines/ETL, historians, time-series databases, and manufacturing analytics.
- Knowledge of OT cybersecurity (ISA/IEC 62443), ISA‑95/ISA‑88, and CSV/GxP for regulated industries.
- Certifications: PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, ScrumMaster/SAFe, ITIL, Six Sigma/Lean.
