About the Project
World of Tanks: HEAT is a cross-platform (PC and consoles) tank MMO shooter currently in development. We're building on the legacy of one of the most successful free-to-play games while creating something fresh for a new generation of players.
About the Team
The Meta team owns the backend systems and meta game features that shape the player's experience outside of battle - progression, economy, collections, social features, and more. We're a team of 25+ developers and QAs who collaborate closely with game designers, UX designers, and UI artists. We hold ourselves to a high technical bar and care deeply about both craft and delivery.
As we grow, we need more support on the managerial side. You'll join an existing Delivery Manager who will support your onboarding and partner with you as we scale.
The Role
- As a Project Manager, you work with the team to turn product vision into deliverable iterations, balance competing priorities, and keep everything moving. You're not here to push tasks, but you're here to build a system where a talented team can do their best work and ship reliably.
- This role requires a servant leadership mindset. You enable teams rather than direct them. You create visibility, remove impediments, and empower people to self-organize and collaborate productively. You're a force multiplier. When you're doing your job well, everyone around you is more effective.
Planning & Delivery
- Run the estimation process and shape quarterly roadmaps, monthly releases, and bi-weekly iterations
- Plan iteration and release scope with the team and Product Manager based on team capacity
- Work with Tech Leads to find the best implementation paths for product requirements
- Break down PRDs and initiatives into epics, user stories, and tasks with the team and Product Manager
- Maintain a sustainable development pace, identify risks early and adjust workload accordingly
Process & Facilitation
- Define and evolve team processes within our broader framework
- Facilitate refinements, plannings, and preparation sessions for monthly and quarterly cycles
- Run retrospectives at both team and system levels, turning feedback into real process improvements
- Track delivery metrics (throughput, cycle time, defect’s number, velocity) and use them to drive decisions
- Optimize the flow of work across multiple delivery pipelines, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
- Continuously improve work systems to push toward development best practices
Coordination & Communication
- Facilitate cross-team synchronization between teams, ensuring alignment without creating overhead
- Balance requests from stakeholders against team capacity
- Manage dependencies with external teams
- Keep stakeholders informed on progress, risks, and tradeoffs
- Help stakeholders refine priorities based on what's realistic
- Manage expectations from both internal and external teams and stakeholders
Team Health
- Resolve conflicts within the development team
- Identify and mitigate risks before they become blockers
- Remove impediments, create visibility, and enable teams to self-organize
- Build and maintain high performance collaborative team environment
- Engineering background - you've worked as a developer or in a technical role and understand how software gets built
- Understanding of scalable cloud architectures and high-load distributed systems, so you can have informed conversations with engineers about backend challenges, microservices, and cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Producer, or Project Manager on software or game development teams (5+ years preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management skills - you can navigate competing interests, set expectations, build trust, and maintain alignment across teams and leadership levels
- Strong facilitation skills - you can run a productive planning session
- Worked with agile frameworks and you have the judgment to adapt them to your team's reality
- Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams working across different locations or time zones
- Ability to communicate clearly with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
- A servant leadership mindset - you see your role as enabling the team, not directing it
- Resilience under pressure -you stay calm and effective when priorities shift or crises emerge
- Experience with cross-platform or live-service game development
- Familiarity with MMO or free-to-play game economies and meta systems
- Understanding of live operations including seasonal content, live events, and player feedback loops in games-as-a-service
- Background working in scaled agile environments with multiple dependent teams (LeSS, SAFe, or similar)
- Experience with PI (Program Increment) planning or similar quarterly planning ceremonies for multi-team coordination
- Relevant certifications: SAFe RTE, CSM, LeSS Practitioner, or PMP
- Experience across all stages of game development or product development from concept to release and live operations
