We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Sines, Portugal!


As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed according to contractual obligations and technical requirements, delivered on time and within quality standards, and achieving expected profitability. You will act as the main interface between the Customer and Vertiv, proactively managing project performance.


What kind of work will you be doing?

  • Project Planning: Translate customer needs and requirements into detailed project plans, share with relevant company functions, and drive internal execution to meet targets.
  • Proactive Problem Prevention: Identify potential issues during the project lifecycle and coordinate with other departments to resolve them, ensuring flawless project execution.
  • Cost Control: Oversee project purchasing with the Purchasing Manager, ensure adherence to budget, and implement cost reduction and containment actions.
  • Delivery & Site Coordination: Coordinate deliveries with clients and purchasing to avoid excess inventory; manage local subcontractors for installations and the service team for on-time start-ups.
  • Project Documentation: Ensure timely, accurate, and complete maintenance of project reports and documentation packages, including drawings, specifications, customer requirements, minutes of meetings, certificates, and proof of delivery.
  • Customer Relations, Reporting & Invoicing: Provide accurate revenue and margin forecasts, maintain regular communication with departmental staff and functions, and raise invoice requests for timely billing.

What will make you successful? 

  • Educated to degree level in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in running and controlling high-value M&E contracts.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (mandatory).
  • Good knowledge of Liebert HPAC and UPS products and solutions.
  • Experienced in negotiating with and managing sub-contractors.
  • Numerate and IT literate, with strong understanding of business performance software:
    • Essential: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Oracle
    • Preferable: AutoCAD
  • Ability to understand commercial contracts and strong knowledge of contract agreements and contract law.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet agreed timescales.
  • Customer-centric, able to handle complex customer requirements effectively.
  • Team player with strong communication and influencing skills across functions.

Physical & Environmental Demands

  • Follow and respect, in all its technical interventions, the environmental guidelines established by Vertiv Spain, and those that are specific to the client's facilities where the intervention is carried out.

Time travel required

  • Occasional travels to Customer site may be required.

Skills Required
