The Project Manager is responsible to estimate, manage, and deliver DYWIDAG’s projects in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. This shall be accomplished by utilizing your technical competence and acumen along with superior communication capabilities to deliver projects on time and on budget. Results shall be measured in the form of safe, profitable work, ensuring contractual obligations are met and customer satisfaction is achieved. The work performed includes, but is not limited to, structural repair and strengthening mainly in the form of post tensioning and carbon fiber polymer (CFRP) projects. Most work takes place in the heavy civil and commercial infrastructure markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • The utmost attention to safety in every aspect of this job is an essential requirement. Ensuring the safety of job site personnel through the development of site-specific safety execution plans is required for each project.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure clear accountability and a coordinated approach is in place for all clients and internal teams, resulting in a plan that meets or exceeds the established budget on any given project.
  • Build strong relationships with external clients, customers, engineers, vendors and operational team members.
  • Lead, manage coordinate and direct any assigned project.
  • Manage the financial aspects of all assigned projects to ensure they meet or exceed budget expectations
  • Use of Navision to ensure proper Job Progress Report management on a regular basis and to facilitate monthly financial reporting.
  • Continuous hands-on understanding of the DYWIDAG target market and competitor landscape, identifying risks and opportunities through talking to clients during project execution.
  • Attend industry functions such as events, conferences and exhibitions when needed.
  • Develop, communicate and implement project handoff and operational plans for assigned projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the designated marketing partner to assist with marketing campaigns, collateral, project reports, social media postings, etc. as needed.
  • Maintain up to date, in depth knowledge of all DYWIDAG products and services.
  • Assist in resolving field performance, collections and other customer satisfaction issues as needed.
  • Ability to read and understand construction contracts of varying types and manage DYWIDAG projects to meet the contractual terms as required.
  • Preparation of cost estimates as required to support sales and business development efforts for labor and material quotes.
  • Perform due diligence in acquiring material and service pricing to ensure that DYWIDAG receives the best possible and most competitive 3rd party pricing.
  • Prepare completed estimates for assigned projects for presentation to DYWIDAG business development and management team.
  • Manage the preparation and submittal of shop drawings, work plans and any other technical project submittals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Technical or engineering degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of managing Repair and Strengthening preferred.
  • Completion of a Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • OSHA or equivalent safety training preferred or the ability to obtain this training.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Thorough understanding of post tensioning systems, carbon fiber systems, structural repair and strengthening systems and DYWIDAG products and services or the ability to gain this knowledge quickly.
  • Must have experience on civil construction, heavy construction, DOT, bridge construction or similar construction site experience to be considered for this position.
  • Working experience with HCSS Heavy Bid, Crew Tracks, Navision, Microsoft Office or the ability to learn this software quickly.

  • Ability to listen well and establish rapport in order to manage successfully using a range of influencing and negotiating techniques.
  • Knowledge of technical proposal writing, presentation and negotiation techniques, communication techniques and conflict management.
  • Ability to write, think and speak technically. A strong degree of technical acumen.
  • Excellent customer service skills, remaining courteous always while promptly responding to requests.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate long-term relationships with clients and DYWIDAG team members and the ability to network internally within DYWIDAG.  
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and time management skills. 
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel shall be as required to meet the goals of the Company.
  • Must have the ability to traverse a variety of construction site environments to make site visits, sales calls, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, laptop use, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
