What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing all aspects of project management for moderately complex engineering project assignments ensuring total delivery of the services on time, within performance budget and quality expectations. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Define Scope, Objectives, and Deliverables -- Establish the full project scope, technical objectives, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.

  • Develop and Manage the Project Plan & Schedule -- Create detailed execution plans (often including FEED → EPC → commissioning phases), define activities, sequence work, and maintain the schedule baseline.

  • Control Budget and Financial Performance -- Estimate costs, manage capital spend, track expenditures, and ensure the project is delivered within approved financial limits.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams -- Coordinate engineers, operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors - acting as the central point of accountability across all disciplines.

  • Ensure Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance -- Drive adherence to HSE requirements, environmental laws, and industry standards - typical in petrochemical facilities where risks are high.

  • Manage Risk Proactively -- Identify technical, operational, environmental, and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the lifecycle.

  • Oversee Procurement and Contractor Management -- Develop bid packages, evaluate vendors, and manage contractor performance to meet safety, quality, and schedule expectations.

  • Monitor Progress and Control Project Execution -- Track KPIs, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Communicate with Stakeholders and Leadership -- Serve as the primary interface for Kronos leadership and operations stakeholders - providing clear, consistent reporting and alignment

  • Manage Change, Quality, and Project Closeout -- Control scope changes, ensure quality standards are met, and lead commissioning, handover, documentation, and lessons learned activities.

Ideal Background

Education:  Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.  

Certification: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.  

Experience: This position requires up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.

  • Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.

  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.

  • Ability to delegate authority appropriately.

  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and to structure accountability.

  • Ability to set priorities.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with team orientation.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills and experience.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
