Job Role Overview:
***This is a hybrid role/at least two days in the office each week.***
As a Project Manager with a strong background in P&C insurance, your role will focus on overseeing and managing complex projects, especially those involving claims management systems such as Guidewire Claims Center or OnBase. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with business objectives. Your experience in project management methodologies such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Six Sigma will help drive efficiency, process improvement, and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Lead the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closeout, ensuring the project aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, product managers, and claims operations to ensure smooth project execution.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Communicate project goals, progress, and risks effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and drive alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate project risks to avoid delays or unexpected cost increases.
- Develop contingency plans for project risk mitigation.
- Claims System Expertise (Guidewire/OnBase):
- Oversee projects involving the implementation or enhancement of Guidewire Claims Center or OnBase systems.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure successful integration, customization, and optimization of claims management systems.
- Understand P&C insurance claims workflows and ensure the project solutions align with claims operations requirements.
- Process Improvement (Six Sigma Focus):
- Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes and improve project delivery.
- Analyze existing workflows and identify areas of inefficiency or bottlenecks.
- Implement process improvements and automation where applicable.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Track and report on project expenditures and provide regular updates on budget forecasts.
- Allocate resources efficiently and ensure adequate staffing and skillsets for project success.
- Quality Assurance & Testing:
- Ensure that the projects meet quality standards by conducting regular reviews and audits.
- Work closely with QA teams to develop testing plans and ensure the system is fully tested before go-live.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, plans, risk logs, and progress reports.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, KPIs, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related fields.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within the P&C insurance sector.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects involving claims management systems like Guidewire Claims Center or OnBase.
- Experience in agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in claims management systems, including Guidewire Claims Center or OnBase systems.
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance industry processes, with a focus on claims workflows.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and system integration.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and recommend solutions that drive efficiency and success.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives, ideally within Six Sigma frameworks.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
- In-depth understanding of P&C insurance industry, including claims processing and underwriting.
- Experience with Guidewire Claim Center system configurations, implementations, or migrations.
- Familiarity with OnBase document management systems, especially within the context of insurance claims.
