Project Manager - Marine

Purpose of Role: Project Manager specialising in Marine projects. In this role, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects that contribute to the growth and success of the Marine SBU strategy, leveraging your expertise to ensure effective project management and risk mitigation for optimal project outcomes.
As Project Manager, you will take on the responsibility of defining project scopes, managing schedules, monitoring project financials and implementing robust risk management strategies. Your role also involves implementing governance structures that provide control over projects, thereby effectively managing uncertainties and mitigating risks associated with project initiatives.
Main accountabilities:
Lead the planning, execution and delivery of projects across diverse sectors ensuring seamless execution with a focus on quality and efficiency
Develop comprehensive scopes of work, project schedules and budgets to guide successful project realisation
Oversee project finances and adeptly manage project-related risks to ensure adherence to budgets and meticulous financial management and the successful mitigation of potential challenges
Identify and escalate project delivery risks, with skilled management of project reporting to enable transparent communication and well-informed decision-making
Efficient project schedule and resource management, defining and managing interfaces and interrelationships between programme activities, identifying and de-risking critical path activities, and ensuring that overall timescales are met
Lead project governance structures to promote streamlined project delivery and adherence to best practices
Uphold contract compliance, health and safety standards, and evidence-based assessments
Drive sustainability practices into project execution, championing environmentally responsible operations
Most important skills based requirements:
Substantial experience in project management, preferably within the renewable energy or marine sector
Adept at developing and managing project scopes and schedules
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk management and reporting
Proficiency in project financial management, budgeting, and financial risk assessment
Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate project risks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration and reporting with consideration for wider business implications
Familiarity with contracting processes and adherence to contract compliance protocols
Understanding of health and safety regulations and evidence assessment for health and safety
Knowledge of sustainability principles and their integration into project management practices
