Your role and responsibilities
As a Project Manager at ABB Marine & Ports, you will lead complex marine projects from planning to delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are met. You’ll coordinate global teams, manage customer relationships, and drive sustainable solutions that shape the future of maritime technology. In this role, you will manage projects that incorporate environmentally friendly technologies and sustainable solutions for the marine industry. You will be responsible for delivering innovative projects that help our customers reduce their environmental impact while maintaining operational excellence.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is contributing to the Project Management in Ostrava.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Lead marine and port projects from sales handover to delivery and service transition
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, and ensure compliance with ABB standards and contracts
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, quality,..) and suppliers for timely execution
- Act as primary customer interface, ensuring satisfaction and clear communication
- Monitor risks, changes, and opportunities; implement mitigation plans
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout the project
- Support testing, commissioning, and occasional site visits
Qualifications for the role
Technical background (ideally Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related fields).
Marine and Ports business experience is an advantage
Experience in project manager role or experience as project execution team member – leading role
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multicultural teams
Open minded person with strong leadership skills and interest in learning new things
Advanced English
Any project management certification is an advantage but not a must
