Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, to closure
- Own end-to-end project planning, including scope definition, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Handle end-to-end resourcing: resource planning, allocation, utilization tracking, and coordination across teams
- Manage end-to-end budgeting: cost estimation, budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact between Japanese clients and internal teams
- Communicate, translate, and interpret business and technical requirements (Japanese ↔ English)
- Create and maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, risk logs, and documentation
- Track project progress, dependencies, risks, and issues; ensure timely and high-quality delivery
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, UI/UX, DevOps, and operations
- Conduct client meetings, reviews, and progress updates in Japanese
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, scope, timelines, and budget commitments
- Proactively resolve issues and escalate risks to stakeholders when required
- Apply appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) based on project needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- Japanese language proficiency: JLPT N2 or N3 (mandatory)
- 8–10 years of experience in IT / Software Project Management
- Proven experience managing end-to-end software development projects
- Hands-on experience in end-to-end project planning, resourcing, and budgeting
- Experience working with Japanese clients or Japan-facing projects
- Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
