Project Manager, Group Category & Assortments

At STARK Group, the largest distributor of heavy building materials in Northern Europe, we create value by sourcing at scale, securing strong availability close to our customers and offering competitive prices through an extensive branch and warehouse network.

We are now looking for a skilled Project Manager to help create value through Group Assortment & Category Projects. The role sits at the centre of the Heavy Building Materials category and is part of a diverse international Group Sourcing team.

What to look forward to

You will lead cross-country assortment initiatives, identify synergies and support value-adding category activities in close collaboration with Business Units, Category Specialists, suppliers and senior stakeholders. Your key responsibilities entail:

  • Identify assortment synergies and optimisation opportunities across markets.
  • Own cross-country assortment projects from planning to implementation.
  • Support tenders, negotiations, sales index follow-up and implementation in close collaboration with the Data Analyst, Category Specialists and business stakeholders.
  • Support supplier dialogue, performance follow-up and partnership development.
  • Facilitate regular HBM alignment and knowledge-sharing across Business Units, covering market insights, supplier updates, challenges and best practices.
  • Moderate category committee meetings, including agendas, decision material and follow-up.
  • Secure progress on category activities that strengthen performance, profitability and assortment development across markets.

What makes you a strong match

You bring experience from project, category or assortment management, preferably from a B2B, sourcing or retail-related environment. You have a strong commercial mindset and are used to working in an international matrix organisation where stakeholders, priorities and workstreams need to be aligned.

You are structured, proactive and confident in driving progress from planning to implementation. You communicate clearly, listen actively and are comfortable engaging with colleagues, suppliers and senior stakeholders across countries and functions. You are also confident in sharing your perspective, taking initiative and leading alignment when needed.

Experience with tenders, supplier negotiations or supplier performance follow-up is an advantage. Knowledge of product and assortment management is highly relevant, and curiosity about how AI can support smarter ways of working is a plus. As the role works across countries, you should be professionally fluent in English.

Why join us?

This is a chance to take on a visible role in an international sourcing and category organisation where your work will directly support commercial performance, assortment development and stronger collaboration across markets. We believe that strong relationships create strong results.

You will join the Heavy building team in Group consisting of 4 team members where trust, collaboration and a willingness to support each other are central to how we work every day. You will be part of a welcoming and modern office environment with colleagues, who combine professionalism with an open, informal and helpful culture. The role is based at our office in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen; however, some travel should be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and Business Units across Europe and to run the projects.
