Junior Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Junior Embedded Software Engineer to work on different aspects of secure, connected IoT devices as well as device-related aspects of our EdgeLock 2GO secure, flexible IoT service platform. This role is ideal for candidates with a Master’s degree who are early in their career and have strong interest in security of embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation and test of Provisioning FW responsible for securely lock device to specific OEM at manufacturing sites.
- Implementation and test of Trusted Firmware-M core and examples on Cortex-M MCUs.
- Implementation and test of embedded SW applications for secure key provisioning on top of FreeRTOS/Zephyr operating systems.
- Distribution and release of the embedded SW applications through different distribution portals.
- Working on architecture and design of methods for secure device management.
- Cooperation with the backend team to maintain Java microservices responsible for device abstraction.

Your Profile:
- University degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Eager to learn, curious and open-minded.
- Strong programming skills – you love to code.
- Fast thinker and able to quickly adopt to new standards/tools/protocol.
- In your studies, you were exposed to embedded software design and verification methodologies.
- Basic understanding of (32-bit) microcontroller architectures and digital hardware.
- Experience in embedded programming languages (C, Assembler).
- Basic knowledge of IoT cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of embedded security aspects (Cryptographic algorithms, TrustZone) is a plus.
- Familiarity with other languages is a plus (Python, Groovy).
- Familiarity with higher-level object oriented programming (Java) is a plus.

Please note: The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks. The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
