Cumming Group is currently hiring a Project Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA. The Project Manager position is responsible for supporting a public agency's EV charger installation program. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Owner's representative in all matters related to the EV Charging Program, overseeing and managing daily field and office activities, project staff coordination, and all ancillary project functions.

  • Monitor and manage project scope, schedule, and budget, and report project status to the client's executive leadership as required.

  • Participate in design review and constructability meetings, propose solutions to mitigate identified issues, and provide construction information and recommendations from planning through final solicitation document preparation.

  • Support the solicitation of construction contractors, including analysis of drawings, technical specifications, construction staging and methods, contract packaging, and scope of work for clarity and completeness.

  • Coordinate with the client's Environmental Compliance and Services Department to analyze environmental and sustainability-related contract specifications as needed.

  • Track scope changes, evaluate impacts of proposed modifications on schedule and budget, and ensure all changes are properly documented and authorized through the client's established change management procedures.

  • Develop and manage the project schedule, or review and manage an existing schedule, including monthly progress reporting, contractor schedule review, and recommendations regarding schedule changes, contract impacts, and workarounds.

  • Support project cost engineering activities including budget review, tracking actuals and allocations, variance analysis, contingency evaluations, and forecast maintenance.

  • Maintain a project risk register, evaluate likelihood and impact of identified risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate risk status to the client.

  • Support monthly reporting on schedule compliance, cost performance, and project status.

  • Manage project document control including RFIs, RFCs, submittals, change proposals, and other deliverables.

  • Provide technical support on engineering issues during design and construction phases, limited to advisory and coordination services.

  • Represent the client in community and public agency engagement as needed, with a focus on protecting the interests of the traveling public and the client at all times.

  • Uphold a strong safety culture, maintain personal accountability for their own safety and the safety of those around them, and adhere to all applicable security policies and procedures.

  • Ensure conformance with all contract documents and coordinate with client staff and other consultants to maintain alignment between project execution and the approved project baseline.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar field.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction management on transportation or infrastructure projects of comparable scale and complexity.

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as owner’s representative and/or management of major construction project of similar scope and budget.

  • Prior experience with EV charger installation projects.

  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Prior contractor experience in a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Engineer capacity is desirable.

  • Valid California Class C driver's license.

The salary range for this full-time role is $120,200.00-$160,266.69 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a similar field
