As part of our Central Engineering team, we are looking for a Project Manager Engineering to lead strategic capital investment projects across multiple manufacturing locations in the Netherlands and Poland.

Position Overview
The Project Manager Engineering is responsible for leading and delivering capital projects across our manufacturing sites in Lelystad, Lewedorp, and Strzelin (Poland). The role focuses on compliance-driven investments, food safety improvements, asset replacement programmes, and cost-saving initiatives.
Managing projects typically ranging from €100,000 to €4 million, you will take full ownership of the project lifecycle; from development and budgeting through tendering, execution, commissioning, and handover. Working closely with site teams, suppliers, contractors, and specialist compliance experts, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with McCain engineering standards.
This role offers a high level of autonomy and requires strong stakeholder management, technical expertise, and financial awareness.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver capital projects end-to-end across multiple manufacturing sites;
- Manage the full project lifecycle including development, budgeting, tendering, contractor selection, execution, commissioning, and handover;
- Deliver projects focused on safety compliance, food safety, asset replacement, and operational cost savings;
- Take ownership of project budgets, financial control, forecasting, and reporting;
- Coordinate internal teams, external contractors, and specialist compliance experts to ensure successful project execution;
- Lead cross-functional project teams with indirect leadership responsibility for typically 2-5 people;
- Ensure all projects comply with legal, regulatory, CDM, and McCain engineering standards;
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, engineering, and senior management;
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, roadblocks, and technical challenges;
- Promote a strong safety culture and engineering best practices across all project activities.
What you offer
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline;
- Proven experience delivering capital projects within food, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or industrial environments;
- Engineering background in mechanical, electrical, and/or automation engineering;
- Strong understanding of full project lifecycle management and capital investment processes;
- Experience managing budgets, tendering processes, contractors, and financial control;
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills;
- Self-motivated professional with a proactive mindset and strong commitment to safety and compliance;
- Willingness to travel across multiple sites as required to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

- Salary up to €6,077 gross per month (based on a 40-hour work week);
- 8% holiday allowance and an 8.33% year-end bonus;
- An annual bonus of 2-4.4% of your yearly salary, depending on company performance and your individual performance;
