We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-impact renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in South, East and Central Europe region, based in Athens, Greece. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong engineering background, proven leadership in energy construction and the ability to drive complex, multimillion-euro projects from concept to completion—while managing a diverse set of stakeholders and ensuring full compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Projects Oversight & Governance:
    Provide management of a number of renewables and / or energy efficiency construction projects—overseeing both internal teams and third-party contractors to ensure all projects align with Ameresco’s objectives, standards and customer requirements.

  • Tender Management:
    Lead the preparation, coordination and submission of competitive tenders across the assigned project portfolio, ensuring full compliance with client requirements and Ameresco standards. Oversee the development of technical and commercial proposals, coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, finance, legal and operations teams and manage the review, risk assessment and negotiation process through to contract award.

  • Project Reporting, Scheduling & Integration:
    Oversee implementation and integration of project controls and scheduling across the assigned project portfolio, ensuring all projects use approved methodologies and tools. Consolidate project schedules—monitor progress, dependencies and resource allocation and critical path tracking.

  • Financial & Risk Management:
    Manage projects level accounting, budgeting and cost tracking. Identify, assess and manage project risks, ensuring proactive mitigation actions are in place.

  • Customer & Executive Interface:
    Maintain regular communication with Ameresco customers and key stakeholders (both internal and external) to ensure satisfaction, manage expectations and fulfill contractual obligations at the assigned projects level.

  • Continuous Improvement & Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with Ameresco, industry, customer, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes across all portfolio projects. Foster a culture of safety, quality, performance and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree.

  • More than 7 years of proven success managing large-scale construction or energy projects, including oversight of third-party executed work scope.

  • Renewable and / or Industrial power, electrical, mechanical or engineering construction project management experience focusing on Solar and BESS plants, complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automation and energy services

  • Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies and digital tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or equivalent).

  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships

  • Team Leadership and Strategic Thinking

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP®), PRINCE2®, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems, engineering and project management regulations, practices and codes.

  • Effective multitasking capabilities, proactive problem-solving and resilience in complex stakeholder environments.

  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills
