OUTPUT 1 — JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Project Manager (IT/Data)
Indianapolis, IN · W2 · Full-Time

CSpring partners with government and healthcare organizations across Indiana and the Midwest to solve complex problems through data, technology, and people. Our clients run programs that families, patients, and communities depend on — and those programs only work when the technology behind them is delivered on time and done right. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be the person who keeps those efforts moving, translating between technical teams and the stakeholders who count on them.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Your work has a name and a face. The data platforms, reporting systems, and modernization efforts you manage support public health programs, Medicaid operations, and services that reach real people across the state.
  • You are trusted to run your project. CSpring hires experienced people and gets out of their way. You will own your plan, your team's rhythm, and your client relationship without layers of approval slowing you down.
  • The culture is warm and grounded. We are a consulting firm without the consulting-firm ego. People here share what they know, cover for each other, and go home at a reasonable hour.
  • You will grow in both directions. Deepen your technical fluency alongside data engineers and architects, or broaden into program leadership and client strategy — we will support either path.
  • You will see the finish line. CSpring takes on engagements we can actually deliver, which means you get the satisfaction of shipping rather than managing perpetual scope creep.

What You'll Do

You will lead IT and data delivery projects from kickoff through closeout, keeping scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholders aligned the entire way.

  • Own the full project lifecycle for one or more IT/data initiatives — planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout — including charter, schedule, budget, and risk register.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and critical path, and keep them current as reality shifts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, running status meetings, steering committee updates, and executive briefings.
  • Translate technical work — data pipelines, integrations, migrations, reporting builds — into plain language for non-technical stakeholders, and translate business needs back into requirements the team can act on.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, architects, QA, and business subject matter experts.
  • Identify, log, and actively manage risks and issues, escalating early with a recommended path forward rather than just a problem statement.
  • Manage scope and change control, documenting requests, assessing impact, and securing approvals before work begins.
  • Track budget, burn rate, and resource allocation, and flag variances before they become surprises.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies or hybrid delivery rituals — sprint planning, standups, retrospectives — and adapt the approach to what the client environment can actually sustain.
  • Produce clear, consistent project documentation and status reporting that a stakeholder can pick up cold and understand.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 4 years leading data or software delivery projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving data platforms, integrations, migrations, analytics, or enterprise applications.
  • Strong command of project management fundamentals — scope, schedule, budget, risk, resource, and change management.
  • Experience running both agile and waterfall or hybrid delivery models, and the judgment to know which fits a given client.
  • Proven ability to manage client and executive stakeholder relationships, including difficult conversations about timeline or scope.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, MS Project, or comparable platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to move fluidly between technical detail and executive summary.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to work on-site or hybrid in the Indianapolis area as client needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PgMP, CSM, SAFe, or comparable certification.
  • Prior consulting experience delivering for external clients.
  • Experience in government, public sector, or healthcare environments
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL/ELT, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships or multi-vendor delivery teams.
  • Background working within procurement, compliance, or regulatory reporting constraints.
