Our exciting opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager Board Design to drive the development, industrialization, and release of our radio boards. In this role, you will lead cross-functional work according to Ericsson's hardware design process and R&D practices, ensuring that our board design delivers the required performance, quality, cost, and time-to-market.
You will act as the technical and project driver for the radio board design, working closely with hardware designers, system, integration, validation and quality assurance teams, supply, sourcing, manufacturing sites as well as technical and organizational leaders to secure mature, robust and producible board solutions.
What you will do
- Lead board design product development and release from concept to industrialized product, in line with the Ericsson hardware design process and product development frameworks.
- Own technical planning and coordination for the board, aligning design, verification, industrialization, and supply stakeholders.
- Collaborate with system, radio, mechanics, supply, and industrialization teams to secure technical proposals and implementation maturity at each status point.
- Drive industrialization and testability of the board design, ensuring that producibility, test coverage and quality are secured before release.
- Manage dependencies and interfaces towards internal stakeholders handle escalations when needed.
- Plan and follow up project scope, schedule, risks and budget for the board object, including milestone and status point preparation and follow-up.
- Coordinate needed resources and competence for the board work, together with line managers.
- Drive flow optimization, knowledge transfer and learning in the team, using retrospectives and continuous improvement.
- Secure clear and transparent communication and reporting of status, risks, and decisions to steering forums and other stakeholders.
You will bring
- At Least a master's degree in engineering (or equivalent competence).
- Strong technical background in board/PBA or radio HW design, with good understanding of schematic and layout work, and preferably RF design.
- Good understanding of signal integrity and power integrity, and how they impact product performance and testability.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate complex technical deliveries, ideally within HWDP-based or similar product development frameworks.
- Experience in pro ject planning, risk management, and coordination, including working towards milestones and tollgates.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a "can-do" mentality and ability to act on changes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for teamwork and stakeholder management.
- Language Proficiency: business-to-professional level English required; excellent Japanese is a strong advantage.
Additional qualifications (nice to have)
- Experience from coordinative hardware development roles (e.g. Project Manager, Team Leader/Board Lead, Component Project Coordinator, Release Responsible) or similar.
- Familiarity with design for reliability and robustness concepts and related verification flows.
- Background in industrialization / NPI and collaboration with manufacturing, supply and test functions.
