The Opportunity:

The Manila Lead of Project Management is a critical leadership position within our organisation, tasked with spearheading the successful execution of projects throughout the UK territory. This individual is charged with guiding and nurturing a team of project managers, ensuring that all initiatives are completed on schedule, adhere to the agreed-upon scope, and remain within the allocated budget, all while upholding the utmost standards of quality and achieving client satisfaction.

As a role model and leader in the field, the Manila Lead of Project Management will exemplify the highest levels of professional conduct, mentorship, and ethical behaviour, setting the standard for others to follow. They will engage in strategic planning, adept resource management, and promote operational effectiveness. Acting as the primary liaison for senior stakeholders and customers, they will provide transparent communication on project progress and outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Serve as a role model for the project management team by exhibiting exemplary leadership qualities, including integrity, accountability, and commitment.
  • Develop, and retain high-calibre project management professionals, providing mentorship and career development opportunities to foster a high-performing team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear objectives to ensure continuous improvement and personal growth within the team.

Strategic Project Delivery:

  • Oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring they meet agreed timelines, budget constraints, and scope requirements while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Implement strategic project management frameworks and methodologies to optimize project execution and outcomes.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks, resolving issues that may impact project delivery.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding project statuses, risks, and achievements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and senior management, promoting trust and collaboration.
  • Advocate for the needs and interests of the project management team in stakeholder discussions, aligning project goals with organizational objectives.

Financial and Resource Management:

  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and financial prudence.
  • Conduct regular financial forecasting and analysis to inform decision-making and report on project profitability.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation are managed effectively across all projects.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Uphold and advance quality assurance processes, ensuring all projects comply with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to innovate and enhance project delivery processes.
  • Regularly review and refine project management best practices, tools, and techniques to maintain industry-leading standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of project managers and support staff.
  • A master’s degree or an advanced certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in project management, including a proven track record of managing complex projects successfully within the global or international market.
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Experience in building and nurturing high-performing teams, with a focus on professional development and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and clients.
  • Solid understanding of financial management principles and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Experience in financial forecasting, analysis, and reporting
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyse data, and provide innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with the latest industry trends, methodologies, and best practices in project management.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of UK industry-specific regulations and standards that impact project management practices is desirable.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies.
