What you’ll do:

This role supports the delivery of innovation programs and client engagements across the Resilient Economies portfolio. You’ll work across commercialization, entrepreneurship, and innovation initiatives, partnering with clients, entrepreneurs, advisors, and internal teams to move projects from planning through execution.

The role combines project management, qualitative research and analysis, stakeholder coordination, and client-facing delivery. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute across a range of programs from state and regional initiatives, as well as federal government contracts focused on energy and adjacent sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of programs that advance the commercialization of research, emerging technologies, and innovation within government labs and other organizations.
  • Coordinate projects from planning through execution, managing timelines, tasks, resources, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Serve as a key coordination point across internal teams, clients, external advisors, and ecosystem partners, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and follow-through.
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information to develop insights, inform project decisions, and contribute to client-ready deliverables.
  • Support client-facing meetings by preparing agendas and materials, coordinating logistics, capturing key takeaways, and driving follow-up actions.
  • Develop presentations, reports, and other client-facing materials using tools such as Beautiful.ai and Canva.
  • Support entrepreneur and startup engagement through outreach, workshops, events, coaching, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate workshops, webinars, and ecosystem events, including logistics, communications, technology platforms, and follow-up.
  • Actively engage with the innovation ecosystem in the region - connecting with companies, customers, advisors, and investors and integrating them into FedTech activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align program efforts and strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Support evolving program and organizational needs by taking on new projects and responsibilities when needed

What success looks like:

  • First 90 days: You’ve developed a strong understanding of programs, clients, tools, and ways of working. You’re independently managing defined tasks and contributing meaningfully to project execution.
  • By six months: You’re independently coordinating recurring workstreams, effectively managing timelines, stakeholders, advisors, and deliverables with limited oversight.
  • By twelve months: You’re a trusted project contributor who can independently manage core project responsibilities, develop strong client-facing materials, synthesize information into actionable insights, and proactively identify risks and opportunities.You have learned how budgets, scope, and client relationships work by sitting alongside the people who own them.

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in innovation programs, accelerators/studios, startups, entrepreneurship, consulting, or entrepreneurial support organizations. Relevant graduate-level project experience or internships will also be considered. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
  • Ability in relationship-building and client relations, adept at connecting with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • Experience analyzing data to support projects, inform decision-making, and support financial management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional client-facing writing.
  • Hands-on experience with AI and productivity tools such as Claude, Google Suite, Airtable, Slack, Beautiful.ai, and Unanet, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new platforms. 
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and growth-oriented, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.

Compensation: 

  • Base salary range: $70-90k
    • The salary range listed for this position is based on market data and internal compensation structure. The final compensation package will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and education. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, and offers may fall outside this range in exceptional cases.
  • In addition to the base salary, compensation includes performance based bonus (OTE) 
  • A competitive benefits package including 401K with employer match, health/dental/vision plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield, accrued PTO, professional development funds, employer paid disability insurance, parental leave, transportation and wellness reimbursements, amongst others.

Location:The position will be set up as a hybrid work arrangement in our Arlington, VA headquarters (3 days in person, 2 days remote)

Travel: Up to 10% based on business needs
