BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven individual to join as a Project Launch Leader for our Luxembourg Technical Center. This opportunity is offered through a temporary staffing agency for a fixed-term assignment expected to run until approximately June 2027. It provides an exciting opportunity to support the successful launch of innovative automotive technologies in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, the Project Launch Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the successful launch of new products from engineering development through prototype validation and production readiness. The position serves as the primary interface between Product Engineering, Prototype Operations, and Production Plants, ensuring alignment of launch activities with project objectives, customer expectations, and business commitments.
The Project Launch Leader owns the end-to-end transition of products from development to production launch, driving project timing, launch readiness, risk management, and cross-functional execution across multiple sites and organizations. By coordinating Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, and Program Management teams, the role ensures successful product industrialization, operational readiness, and a seamless transfer from product development to serial production.

Key responsibilities


·       Lead end-to-end product launches from engineering release through production ramp-up.

·       Serve as the primary point of contact for launch execution, readiness, and status reporting.

·       Coordinate activities between Engineering, Prototype Operations, Production Plants, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

·       Develop and manage launch plans, milestones, deliverables, and critical paths to achieve customer commitments.

·       Ensure readiness of materials, processes, tooling, equipment, documentation, and resources required for launch.

·       Support prototype builds, validation activities, manufacturing trials, and production ramp-up.

·       Identify, manage, and resolve risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests while driving timely escalation when needed.

·       Lead launch readiness reviews, communicate project status to stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned.




What we’re looking for


·       Engineering degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Program Management, or a related technical field.

·       5+ years of experience in product launches, industrialization, project management, prototype operations, or manufacturing within an automotive environment.

·       Experience coordinating activities between Engineering, Prototype Operations, suppliers, and Manufacturing Plants.

·       Strong understanding of product development, prototype validation, industrialization, manufacturing processes, and new product introduction (NPI).

·       Experience with automotive electronics, power electronics, e-Mobility products, ECUs, inverters, or similar technologies is a strong advantage.

·       Experience managing launches across multiple sites and global organizations.

·       Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across organizations without direct authority.

·       Ability to interpret engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, manufacturing documentation, and project plans.

·       Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, engineering change management, and launch readiness processes is an advantage.

·       Strong planning, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and risk management skills.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SAP, Power BI, and project planning tools.
