You will work in a virtual team of global HRIT DevOps organization, responsible for providing HR System Support to all Shell employees, external candidates, and extended enterprise, on implemented HR SaaS solutions (Workday, Salesforce & A-Pro).
You will be part of Compensation & Benefits DevOps team, supporting related WD functionality that is an integral part of Compensation & Benefits Journeys.
You will be deeply involved in end-to-end system features implementation, from design, configuration, testing and defects resolution to post deployment maintenance and troubleshooting. You will be required to understand both the technical and business side of Compensation & Benefits processes, to deliver greater business impact and improved employee experience in a more affordable way.
What's the role?
The main accountabilities of HR DevOps Analyst in Compensation & Benefits are:
- Ensure solid understanding of user needs, clarify and capture requirements, including impact analysis in end-to-end landscape for Workday, associated integrations and any connected systems pertaining to Compensation & Benefits.
- Translate user requirements into technical solution and optimal system configuration, utilizing best practices and technical documentation available in Workday Community and internally.
- Administer Compensation & Benefits module - create change to the system and manage individual requests for system maintenance through managing configuration of the system and robust end to end testing (both positive and negative), without interruption to the end users.
- Troubleshoot and fix Compensation & Benefits related incidents and proactively search for resolution on any technical issues in Workday Community. Cooperate with other system support teams to drive the issue to resolution.
- Stay up to date with Workday Product development, analyse new releases, test and recommend features that can contribute to enhancing user experiences and more effective execution of business processes.
- Ensure overall understanding and application of HRIT strategy, with focus on building in-dept understanding of roadmap for Compensation & Benefits, in full alignment with Product Owner and Experience Lead.
- Cooperate with HR Business Engagement Team and provide support for ongoing communication and upskilling of users, maintenance of required documentation and engagement materials - reflecting ongoing changes in the Compensation & Benefits.
- Engage on daily basis with colleagues from HRIT DevOps Team (Product Owner, Scrum Master, DevOps Analysts, DevOps Engineers, security, Information Risk Management (IRM) & other IT and HR areas specialists) and actively participate in scrum ceremonies – with strong emphasis on teamwork and close collaboration.
- Support backlog refinement, spring planning and delivery of committed work, by providing technical suggestions, estimating required effort, identifying risks and dependencies, and surfacing impediments.

- Virtual working in a global environment with culturally diverse teams and across many organizational boundaries (HR and IT)
- Part of the matrix organization – working directly within HRIT DevOps Team as well as remaining part of Digital HR Community and working in full integration with process, data, service delivery and continuous improvement areas
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders from HR Operations, HR Centre of Excellence, HR in the Countries, and other functions
- Managing multiple delivery priorities, multiple demand requests and complex issues
What do we need from you?
- Good knowledge of Compensation & Benefits related processes or relevant experience with HR systems - preferably with global exposure and track of continuous improvements (CI).
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and to establish and maintain good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in HR and IT areas
- Skill in investigating and fixing complex issues across organizational boundaries
- Proven ability to define business needs and translate them into system and/or process requirements
- Awareness/knowledge of agile project management methodologies, scrum ceremonies and DevOps ways of working
- Knowledge of HR systems & applications (e.g. Workday, Salesforce, etc.) and understanding of IT organization and ways of working will be an asset. Previous role and background in Workday process administration is an advantage.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Additional Information:
In this role, you are expected to actively contribute to building agile (“self-organising”) culture and safe environment with ‘one team’ mindset.
In this role, you are responsible to fix incidents within agreed timelines ensuring that the end-to-end SaaS landscape remains available, reliable, secure, affordable and compliant, and deliver configuration changes in Workday through sprints.
Your focus area is Compensation & Benefits and will cut across other applications in HR IT Landscape. You feel accountable for ensuring all activities are executed in alignment with Shell standards and pro-actively manage and mitigate security risks.
You contribute to the Agile environment by thinking out of the box and continuously wanting to structurally improve the ways of working, the technical stability of the landscape and the speed in which changes are delivered, and by continuously growing into a more and more self-organizing team with the rest of the team members.
This position requires a strong self-starter who can proactively engage with team members in the virtual DevOps teams, Digital HR, HR Operations and other parts of HR and IT organisations.
You will work with the Product Owner and Scrum Master of your team, HR DevOps Analysts and IT Engineers in your team, The Technical Lead Scrum Master, WD Release Manager, HR Operations teams, Testers, Test Manager, Information Risk Management (IRM), IT Architects, Operations Landscape Management (OLM), Shell People (SAP) and Interface Support team, other legacy / on premise support teams, and HR Transformation Program resources.
