Exus is seeking a Project Finance Associate that will support the financing of renewable energy projects, focusing on compliance, financial modeling, tax equity, and deal execution aspects of our renewable energy transactions. 
Please note: this is an fully onsite role with reasonable flexibility in our New York City office.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess the feasibility and profitability of tax equity and debt financings of utility scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage, etc.).
  •  Support the structuring and negotiation of financing agreements, including debt, tax equity, and other capital markets solutions.
  • Manage the lender and tax credit monetization diligence process, working with 3rd party consultants, counsel, and coordinating internal stakeholders.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with banks and financial institutions, and industry partners.
  • Analyze potential tax structures, including traditional ITC/PTC tax equity and tax credit transfer arrangements to determine project IRR.
  • Support the preparation of investor presentations and due diligence materials for financing transactions as well as for internal reporting purposes.
  • Work collaboratively with project development, EPC, M&A, and Commercial teams to ensure successful deal execution.
  • Stay up to date on renewable energy policies, financing trends, tax regulations, and market trends impacting the industry.
  • Travel up to 15% including visits to the corporate office in PA, conferences, or site visits.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering or a related field.
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or a related field (prior experience in renewable energy is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills with a proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles and valuation methodologies.
  • Experience with tax equity structures for renewable energy projects is preferred.


The base salary for this role is $125,000-$150,000, depending on experience.
