Project Execution Manager

Job Summary:
The Project Execution Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the execution of IT projects within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. With over 5 years of experience as a Lead Project Manager, the Project Execution Manager will have a solid understanding of business cases, risk management processes, and the ability to manage project budgets effectively. This role requires a professional with proven self-management and team-management skills, the capability to make decisions under pressure, and expert managerial, leadership, and communication skills. An active Secret Clearance is also required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the execution of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned.

• Monitor and control project budgets, providing financial analysis and forecasting to ensure fiscal discipline.

• Implement and manage risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

• Make informed decisions under pressure, ensuring the successful progression and completion of projects.

• Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including team members, management, and external partners, to ensure transparency and alignment.

• Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within project teams.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field is required.

• Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

• 5+ years of experience as a Lead Project Manager.

• 5+ years of experience in a DoD IT environment.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.

Security Clearance:

• Must possess an active Secret Clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• A solid understanding of business cases and risk management processes.

• Proven self-management and team-management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams.

• Ability to monitor and control project budgets effectively.

• Strong decision-making capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.

• Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management and staff.

• Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
