Project Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Independently determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction.
• Projects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
• Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.
• Follows up on contacts from clients.
• Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.
• Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.
• Provides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.
• Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.
• Notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications.
• Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates.
• Coordinates administrative aspects of project management.
• Serves as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.
• Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.
• Prepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.
• Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
• Resolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.
• Proposes development of new and/or revised UL requirements.
• Develops special test methods and test equipment.
• Coordinates and/or performs File Reviews.
• May represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows.
• May provide direction as a Primary Designated Engineer or Designated Engineer for specific product categories.
• May directs and review work of assigned staff.
• May train office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry-level engineers.
• Provides technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
• Performs other duties as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  Manage certification projects for inverters (distributed energy), EV chargers, and generator sets, ensuring timely delivery.
• 根据国际及国内标准，执行产品测试、认证流程，并编制相关技术文件。
  Perform product testing and certification processes based on international and domestic standards, and prepare technical documentation.
• 与海外团队及客户进行技术沟通，确保认证要求和项目进度一致。
  Communicate with overseas teams and clients to ensure alignment on certification requirements and project timelines.
• 协调内部资源，管理项目风险，推动项目顺利交付。
  Coordinate internal resources, manage project risks, and drive successful project delivery.
• 根据业务发展，参与其他相关产品认证项目。
  Participate in certification projects for other related products as business needs evolve.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 学历背景 / Education：电力电子技术、电气工程或相关专业，本科及以上学历。
  Bachelor's degree or above in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• 技术能力 / Technical Skills：熟悉电路分析，了解逆变器、充电桩或发电机组产品的结构与工作原理。
  Proficient in circuit analysis; familiar with the structure and working principles of inverters, EV chargers, or generator sets.
• 语言能力 / Language Skills：具备良好的英语听说能力，能够与海外团队进行技术交流。
  Strong English listening and speaking skills for effective technical communication with overseas teams.
• 项目管理经验 / Project Management：有独立管理认证项目的经验，具备跨部门协调能力。
  Experience in independently managing certification projects and coordinating across departments.
• 软技能 / Soft Skills：
