Project Engineers are key contributors to successful project delivery, helping coordinate the people, materials, systems, and planning that keep sophisticated construction projects moving forward.

At RK Industries, you'll support industrial, mission-critical, semiconductor, healthcare, and data center projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients, you'll play a hands-on role in project controls, procurement, field coordination, scheduling, and mechanical systems execution.

This is an opportunity to build your construction expertise while gaining exposure to some of the industry's most complex mechanical and MEP projects, creating a clear path toward future Project Management leadership.


What You'll Do

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-builts, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate procurement activities including equipment tracking, vendor communication, and long-lead material management.
  • Support project schedules through look-ahead planning, milestone tracking, and coordination of project activities.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, buyout activities, and subcontract administration.
  • Participate in site walks, QA/QC inspections, commissioning support, turnover, and project closeout activities.
  • Help coordinate the installation and execution of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, process piping, and utility systems.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

 What You Bring

  • 1+ Years of Mechanical Project Engineering Experience.
  • Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, MEP Coordinator, Mechanical Coordinator, or similar construction-focused role.
  • Experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, process piping, controls, fire protection, or commissioning activities.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, change orders, and project controls.
  • Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, semiconductor, mission-critical, or complex commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to coordinate field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management platforms.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

Skills Required

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related position
  • College or university graduate, or equivalent combination of skills and experience
  • Fully competent in conventional aspects of the subject matter or functional area
  • Ability to plan and conduct work requiring independent judgment and evaluation
  • Ability to devise solutions to problems encountered
  • Ability to perform most assignments independently with instruction
