NetGain Technologies is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Professional Services team.
This is not a help desk role and it's not a reactive support position. You'ldelivng infrastructure projects for small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprise clients.
If you enjoy implementing technology, following a project plan, solving complex technical challenges, and leaving clients with a better environment than you found, we'd love to talk.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy designing and implementing solutions more than working tickets or handling day-to-day support issues.
What You'll Do- Deliver infrastructure projects from kickoff through completion.
- Implement Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and cloud solutions.
- Partner with Project Managers to execute projects on time and within scope.
- Work directly with clients both remotely and on-site.
- Document completed work and ensure smooth project closeout.
- Identify risks, scope changes, and technical challenges early.

- 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and firewalls.
- Experience delivering projects in an MSP, consulting, or project-focused environment.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to clients clearly and professionally.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality documentation.
- Ability to travel to client locations as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications
· Minimum of 8 years’ hands-on experience in IT with high proficiency in:
o Windows Server, Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), Azure Cloud stack, M365, Networking (Firewalls and Switching) and DR/BC
· Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent certs/experience
· Willingness to travel to client locations
· Ability to lift 25lbs
Skills Required
- At least 5 years of hands-on infrastructure engineering experience in an MSP or project-delivery environment
- At least 8 years of hands-on IT experience
- High proficiency with Windows Server, VMware or Hyper-V, Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, firewalls, switching, and disaster recovery/business continuity
- Demonstrable depth in Windows Server and at least one major virtualization platform
- Strong firewall configuration and network troubleshooting skills, especially Fortinet
- Ability to work within a structured project methodology and escalate scope issues
- Ability to communicate technical work clearly to clients
- Willingness to travel to client locations
- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent certifications and experience
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Microsoft, VMware, or Fortinet/NSE certifications
- CCNA or CCNP certification
- Experience with ConnectWise
- Multi-site deployment experience
- Experience completing clean, fully documented project closeouts
