The Project Engineer, Engineered Solutions designs, develops, and delivers custom equipment solutions for our customers. This role works across Sales, Operations, Controls, Purchasing, vendors, and fabrication teams to turn customer needs into practical, buildable solutions and manage projects through delivery.Projects are primarily electrical and controls based, with opportunities to work across hydraulics, mechanical components, instrumentation, and equipment layouts. We are looking for someone with strong engineering fundamentals, practical problem solving skills, curiosity, and the ability to take ownership of projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with customers and internal teams to understand technical requirements and application needs.
- Turn customer requests and concepts into clearly defined project scopes and practical engineered solutions.
- Develop equipment layouts and packaged system concepts.
- Assist with electrical, controls, instrumentation, hydraulic, and mechanical design as appropriate to the project and your experience.
- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
- Select and specify equipment and components.
- Prepare or coordinate drawings, schematics, layouts, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Work with manufacturers, vendors, and outside engineering resources to solve technical challenges.
- Identify when specialized engineering or Professional Engineer review is required.
- Manage assigned projects from initial concept through procurement, fabrication, testing, and delivery.
- Coordinate project activities across Sales, Operations, Controls, Purchasing, vendors, fabricators, field personnel, and customers.
- Track project schedules, technical deliverables, open items, and design changes.
- Support fabrication and assembly by answering technical questions and resolving issues.
- Review completed equipment to confirm it matches the approved design and customer requirements.
- Participate in equipment testing, troubleshooting, and Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Support field installation, startup, and commissioning when required.
- Help develop engineering standards, preferred components, documentation practices, and repeatable packaged solutions.

- EIT certification or successful completion of the FE exam preferred.
- Interest in pursuing PE licensure or an existing PE license preferred.
- Experience or coursework involving industrial electrical systems and power distribution preferred.
- Familiarity with motor controls, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, generators, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, or industrial automation preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar engineering/design software preferred.
- Experience developing BOMs, selecting components, and working with equipment manufacturers or vendors preferred.
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, rental equipment, oilfield, industrial services, or equipment integration preferred.
- Experience taking a project from customer requirement through design, procurement, fabrication, testing, and delivery preferred.
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing, equipment troubleshooting, commissioning, or field startup preferred.
