Job Description: Project Engineer
Position Overview
The Project Engineer oversees the end-to-end execution and commissioning (Cx1 to Cx5) of critical data center infrastructure. This role serves as the central technical coordinator between client stakeholders, vendors, and site technicians, ensuring all Chiller, FWU/AHU, Pump systems meet strict operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commissioning (Cx) Ownership (Cx1 - Cx5)
Level 0: Design Review
- Objective: Review blueprints and plans against the owner's operational requirements.
Level 1: Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)/ Factory Witness Test (FWT)
- Objective: Inspect major equipment (like Chillers, FWU/AHU, Pump) at the manufacturing site before delivery.
Level 2: Installation Check
- Objective: Verify correct on-site delivery and physical installation.
Level 3: Pre-functional Testing
- Objective: Test individual components (e.g., electrical circuits and sensor calibrations) to ensure independent functionality.
Level 4: System Testing
- Objective: Test integrated subsystems together, including heat-load simulations.
Level 5: Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
- Objective: Assist Client and to ensure total system redundancy and fail-safe.
2. Stakeholder Coordination & Meeting Leadership
- LLE Tracking: Attend Long Lead Equipment meetings to track manufacturing and delivery schedules.
- Cx Alignment: Drive regular Commissioning Coordination meetings with clients and contractors.
- Issue Resolution: Track, manage, and close out items in the project Cx Issues Log.
3. Documentation & Drawings Control
- Script Review: Creating standard operating procedures, Method Statements, and Cx scripts.
- Engineering Data: Manage submittals, single-line diagrams, and As-Built drawings.
- Handover: Compile ultimate Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for the operations team.
4. Field Support & Troubleshooting
- On-Site Guidance: Support field engineers and technicians during active Cx.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Commissioning Engineering.
- Experience: 3+ years of direct data center engineering or technical commissioning experience.
- MEP Systems: Deep knowledge of Chilled Water Systems, CRAHs, FWU/AHU and Pumps.
- Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Cx management platforms (e.g., BIM 360, CxAlloy, Procore).
