Our client, a well-established commercial general contractor, is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support a luxury residential construction project in the South Florida market. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional looking to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced Project Managers and field leadership on a high-profile project.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer will support project controls, document management, procurement tracking, RFIs, submittals, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in commercial construction project management.

You'll gain valuable exposure to both office and field operations while supporting the successful execution of a complex luxury residential project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing and managing RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, drawing revisions, and project documentation.
  • Maintain project logs, document control, and tracking systems.
  • Support procurement activities by monitoring material deliveries, long-lead items, and vendor schedules.
  • Coordinate inspections, permits, punch lists, and project closeout documentation.
  • Help prepare closeout packages, warranty documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and turnover records.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and inspectors to resolve project issues.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate updates to project leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring timely follow-up on project action items.
Qualifications
  • 1–4 years of experience supporting commercial construction projects or completion of a relevant internship or co-op program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
